"The hotel was super busy when we were there. Also, some may find it cumbersome having to take off your shoes every time you arrive at the hotel. Also having to walk in socks the whole time in the hotel including going to breakfast. The amenities were great, there were 5 different hot springs tubs to use which was very nice, free ice cream and amazing breakfast spread also water/tea/coffee available every day was very nice. Staff was kind and welcoming. The location was away from the main touristy area but easy taxi or bus ride back after a long day of exploring. "

The rooms are modern, stylish, and thoughtfully designed, offering a relaxing and comfortable atmosphere. The mattress and linens are of outstanding quality, providing a truly restful night’s sleep. I also appreciated the wide range of amenities provided—everything you might need is readily available, including a toothbrush and toothpaste, hairbrush, high-quality shampoo and conditioner, as well as lotion and night cream. One of the highlights of the hotel is its traditional Japanese bath, which offers a unique and relaxing cultural experience. It was impeccably clean and well-maintained, adding an extra level of enjoyment to my stay. Overall, the attention to detail and commitment to guest satisfaction truly set this hotel apart. I would like to sincerely thank the entire staff for their outstanding work. I would not hesitate to give this hotel a well-deserved five-star rating and look forward to staying here again in the future."

"Our biggest complaint was the air quality in the rooms. We became heavily congested but found that went away after a few hours out of the room. We’d just come from a hotel in Tokyo and did not have this issue and we each were taking allergy meds each day. While there was not an odor it seemed as though they knew of the issue as an air purifier was in the room at check in. This didn’t help. We ended up finding we could open the window about 4 inches to get an air flow and disabled their a/c system. This did make it a bit better. Additionally, there were small gnats or flies in the room at check in and throughout the stay. I heard others complaining in an elevator so we knew it was not just us having a suboptimal experience. One other note: There was only one laundry machine on our floor with a 2 hour cycle for one load, so it was always in use. "

"Decent enough hotel with everything you need to have a comfortable stay. The additional amenities available were mostly caffeinated hot drink sachets, whereas another recent hotel had creams and bath salts available which was a nice touch."

"I would never consider staying here again. For the price charged, the experience was completely unacceptable. The room felt grimy and poorly maintained from the moment we walked in. The bathroom was a genuine safety hazard—the toilets and floor were incredibly slippery. To make matters worse, the onsen was unhygienic and visibly full of hair. It’s clear that cleanliness is not a priority for the management here. To top it off, we were hit with a 400 yen accommodation tax at checkout. While I realize this is a Kyoto city requirement, paying extra fees for a hotel that can’t even keep its facilities sanitary felt like a total rip-off. Save your money and find a cleaner, safer place to stay in Kyoto. This was a massive letdown."
