"This picture and the place have no connection. This is the picture of the nearby beach. The hotel is not located here. It's about a few minutes walk from the beach. It's better to put a real picture of the hotel. Also, the hotel does not have an elevator and the entrance is narrow. It's difficult to carry bags to the 4th floor without an elevator. Also no facilities for keeping your baggage. You need to pay coin lockers"

"We were the only guests and thus had the whole house for ourselves. Amazing new outdoor Onsen and very spacious room with a wonderfull view. Very clean and good futon beds. Well equipped kitchen. We totally enjoyed our stay at Ikkyuan!"

"The hotel is up a steep sloping street and in a quiet area. It has a traditional feel and the cafe is really nice and the hot springs, however there is no view, unless you pay for the private baths upstairs. The whole place could use a bit of a facelift, but more of an issue was the lack of service and the quality of the food, particularly dinner. We arrived too late for the 6:30 seating and was given the 7:00 p.m. seating. Clearly the appetizer box had been sitting out for a long time and...

"Check in process was not foreign friendly. The room was very old style with no private bath/ shower. Furniture with slight damage and worn carpet. 1960-1970-ish hotel. Hotel app needs work, not easy to use. Restaurant staff were very attentive. Indoor and outdoor hot spring bath were nice."

"Exceptional traditional ryokan if you want to relax in Hakone & Yugawara! The thoughtfulness and service of the staff was wonderful in every aspect. Rooms were supplied with traditional robes, comfortable sleepwear, onsen on our terrace and hot spring baths. Kaiseki cuisine was delicious, plentiful and presentation was over the top. This is a beautiful facility with an excellent staff. If you want to experience Japanese culture at its finest you need to come here. Our 4 day visit was perfect...

"The stay at Couscous was absolutely spot on! Beautiful glamping resort in the quiet town of Manazuru. It has good connection links to the main station if odawara. Perfect for exploring the Hakone region of Japan. The tents were very well equipt with fans, heating, usb's. Outside there was incredible decking areas with BBQs, and a large table and chairs. The site itself was extremely clean and the toilet and shower areas were always spotless and very modern. Overall I would 100% recommend this as a place to stay for a bit of peace and quiet after touring Japan! Thank you again Couscous! ❤️蘭"

"We Americans stayed here for 2 nights. Highly recommended. Great cultural experience for those looking for an authentic ryokan in an older style building with communal bathing facilities. Japanese breakfast was really fun but I had little idea what I was eating. Go with an open mind! I was glad there were a couple of very helpful staff who spoke some English. Otherwise, it looked like all local Japanese guests there!"
