The Royal Highland Hotel

The Royal Highland Hotel

8/10 Good
"Close to train station, parking out front if you are lucky to get a spot. If unable to get a parking spot out front, I parked around the corner and it was only a short walk. Large room allowed for plenty of storage for luggage, it was nice and warm for our 2 night stay. Staff were helpful at reception regarding directions and nearby amenities. Laundry was 4 minutes away so easy to do. Hotel is close to Victorian markets and walkable to the loch. Overall enjoyed my stay here"

Ardross Glencairn

Ardross Glencairn

10/10 Excellent
"Clean room. Friendly and helpful staff. Breakfast okay, but range of choices and a bit of variety would be appreciated for regular guests and long stayers. Desk in my room was cramped and the chair was far too low for comfortable working. Also there was no lamp or light at the desk, which made it too dark, even if the chair had been high enough. Small things if you are just staying overnight, but very important if you have work to do. Parking is excellent and very convenient."

Waverley Guest House

Waverley Guest House

10/10 Excellent
"Basic, clean and comfortable. The couple running the guesthouse went above and beyond to make us welcome. After arriving on the Caladonian Sleeper train from London (and getting very little sleep on the train) They juggled rooms around to allow us a room at 9am when check-in wasn't till 3pm. Nothing was too much trouble."
