"Fantastic location. The property’s on street parking is very convenient. Lovely breakfast and staff. Bed not the most comfortable."

"We stayed in the Bootham suite, the room was light and airy and had a lovely small balcony to enjoy the sunshine. The four poster bed was very comfy and there was a small seating area to relax in. Breakfast was very good, everything is a la carte and the staff were very attentive. The hotel is in a great location, very easy walking distance into York but also very quiet and peaceful. The Pantry is a really nice touch but it was a shame that there wasn't a fridge in the room to keep drinks cool....

"clean room, but the shower was broken to begin with, but fixed after 20 minutes, and loud, drunk guest at 2 am one night, which kept me up for 3 hours, but I did not say anything at the time, with i would not want to deal with such people at 2 am, so can not blame them with just wanting to sleep at the time and did not do anything my self. "The staff were very helpful & friendly. The hotel rooms are a bit dated but very clean and the bed very comfortable. The dressing table has no lamp or light nearby, so it is hard to get ready, appying make up as the bathroom light isn't great either. There is a pub across the road which played loud music until 2am plus lots of noise outside first thing because of the main road. Saying that, we enjoyed our stay . The hotel is in a great location close to the sites if you don't mind the noise....

"Last minute booking as decided to stay overnight in York. Communication for check in was quick, property was easy to find, close to town and super clean and tidy. Had a relaxing stay and would definitely consider again next time we were in York. Small supermarket and Mrs Greedy’s at end of road was excellent for supplies and a quick cooked breakfast. "

"The room was meant to be soundproof but could hear next door for starters, then we seen it wasn’t a king size bed but two single beds put together which wasn’t very comfortable to say the least. Also two of the rooms I’d say are used for permanent residence. Then passing pedestrians through the night was noisy was irritating to say the least. We couldn’t work the heating system for the room. "

It was extremely spacious, had comfy bed and pillows, a view of the Minister, and a bath to soak in. The amenities are very well thought out and made me feel cared for (fluffy robe and slippers, washcloths, complimentary sparkling water and chocolates, quality bathroom products, and eye mask and earplugs - didn't need them because it was very quiet at night). "Breakfast was fresh and very tasty. I stayed on the very top floor. There is no elevator, so if you have heavy luggage, you might want to stay on a lower floor. I loved the exposed beams and charming decor. The bathroom was clean, but small. I was traveling alone, so it was not an issue for me. The best part was the location! It was close to the Minster, Shambles and the wall. If I return to York I would stay here again. "

"Only a short walk from the train station, Wheatlands Lodge Hotel was impressive to look at on first view from the street. Well kept garden at front with seating and tables on lawn. Welcomed on arrival, quick check in, offered a local paper guide to York and a complementary hot drink. The bedroom was comfortable and clean but did look a little dated. The ground floor view from the window of a rear outside service area was disappointing as I guessed those on other floors, especially at the front,...

"Brilliant hostel only a short walk into the historic centre of York. All facilities present and in good condition, very friendly and helpful staff. Can't think of anything that could have been improved upon."

"What a great place to stay. We highly recommend it! Breakfast was excellent. Christina, our breakfast waitress was outstanding. Lots of breakfast choices. The breakfast room was very nice and the table in the window bay was special. Our room was spacious, and the kitchen amenities were complete. There was a small table where we could sit looking on the back garden. The bathroom was also spacious and well done. The decor in the condition of everything was amazing given the age of the building....

"The room was very spacious and clean. Staff were very helpful. Breakfast was delicious. The only issue I experienced was that the water in the bathroom was too hot and there was no way to make it cooler. Apart from this, everything was good."

"チェックインの際に名前を伝えた段階でため息をつかれ、重いスーツケースを部屋まで運んではくれましたがぶつぶつと文句を言われ、まったく歓迎されている感じではありませんでした。 部屋にはデスクとイスがありましたが、イスに座るとぐらついたので、その旨を伝えると午後に外出している間に交換されていました。ですが、そのイスに座るとデスクにちょうどあごが乗るくらいの低いイスでしたので、結局、座ることはありませんでした。3泊しましたが、その間タオルやコーヒーカップも交換してもらえず、毎日フロントまで自分でタオルなどを持っていかなくてはなりませんでした。シャワーの排水口も詰まりかけていた状態で、シャワーする際にはシャワーのお湯が床にたまり、足が浸かっている状態でした。滞在している間はずっとその状況に耐えなくてはなりませんでした。 他のゲストにはにこやかに対応をしている様子でしたので、きちんと対応するゲストと適当に無視するゲストを選んでいたのかもしれません。 二度と滞在したいとは思いませんし。他の人にもおすすめできるゲストハウスではないです。"
