"Really great hotel with so much attention to detail. Record players in the room and a huge selection of records is a really nice touch. The Radio was on when we arrived to our room and the Pantry is generous & a really unique touch. Canadian lady on the Bar was knowledgeable & super friendly (Pleasantly surprised at how reasonable the extensive bar menu was priced). Just really really cool & great location."

"The hotel is perfectly placed in the centre of York and easy to get to. The staff were lovely and were able to accommodate giving us a lower-level room, which was so helpful (especially when pregnant in a heatwave!). There were lots of options available in the mini bar as well as teas, coffees, etc. The room was very comfortable and clean - we will definitely return next time we come to York."

"Breakfast had funny taste first day, decent second day. Front entrance mat extremely grubby and this is what welcomes you. Peeling paint, dead flower pots and no hanging baskets at front. Carpets dirty around bed, defiant tracks. Couple we was with had stayed there before, said it had definitely gone down hill with all the above mentioned plus they used to have homemade loafs of bread and jams and yogurts where much betțer on the whole seemed to be cutting costs and corners. Not your run of the mill continental breakfast, but a sit down, order from an extensive menu kind of meal. Everyone here was so friendly and helpful and the location was convenient to the town’s landmarks. Would definitely stay here again!"

"Lovely property, very friendly and helpful staff, and a nice breakfast … but the bedrooms were SO HOT they were unbearable. Both of our rooms were at the front of the building with the widows in full sun all day while the bay windows barely opened so there was no air at all. The receptionist could only offer a poor fan that actually pumped out warm air. If we hadn’t had family also staying we would 100% have bailed. The owner needs to sort out some air con because the world isn’t going to get...
