  • Street Views | Ho Chi Minh: Don’t know what it is about photography in public spaces in Asia but I firmly believe that anyone in a public space, enters that space with full expectations that privacy is not guaranteed and anyone photographing in a public space has free range of that space. In Japan you’re not allowed to take a picture of a Japanese idol during a public appearance. I have had the 🙅🏻‍♂️ sign thrown up at me a few times trying to do so. In Thailand I had a security guard at a club try to pull my camera away from me, with me attached to it and a police demand that I delete photos I took of them throwing a man on the ground to arrest him. I was pretty pissed off at the whole incident and wasn’t shy to let the both of them know about themselves, luckily I didn’t get thrown in a Thai jail as that could have been a possibility. While taking this photo, the lady sitting down to the left told me not to take any photos from where I was, I believe that she didn’t want me blocking her table. But really, you can see the size of the entire area. How much of a factor could I have been? I understand some of the laws of other countries are different but that doesn’t make them any less ridiculous, no offense. Some people only wake up on one side of the bed and that’s the wrong side. Fantastic location, breakfast was great, rooftop was amazing. It is located next to a "Tokyo" style district with lots of Japanese restaurants. A 10 minute walk to the Ho Chi Minh People's Committee building and Opera House. The staff was ver polite and helpful. Highly recommend this hotel.

Comfortable

The room was a bit dated, but it was well-maintained and felt clean and comfortable. The only slippers available were shared sandals, which might not be ideal for everyone. Breakfast was served at a restaurant on the 16th floor with a great view and a wide variety of dishes to enjoy. The bar and pool on the 17th floor also had a nice atmosphere. Overall, the service was excellent.

The white sandals provided in the room were a bit dirty and I avoided using them. But that's a small problem. Hotel staff are very friendly. The rooms are clean and comfortable. A very good location for sightseeing in the city. The rooftop pool and bar is a good experience. It was probably one of the best experiences at this hotel.
