"Good day. I am writing because we had a flood in our room. They came and fixed it but our clothes and personal stuff were all wet. It was leaking all day. No one from the staff came and asked us if everything was ok. It was just brushed off. No offers for another room or anything. Highly disappointed. I would write anything but when we first arrived there was jack hammering going in in the construction and we were on the 2nd floor. It seemed like a nightmare from the beginning. I enjoyed my stay in London but not at the hotel. I just survived breast cancer and this was my cancer free vacation. I hope you can make this right. Sincerely Rachael Hettinger. "The room was nice, large and quiet. But there was no safe, and the bed was a standard double with a soft squeaky old mattress. Disappointing."

"This listing is incomplete. Right off the bat, they wanted £40 to check-in early. Rather than give available rooms to folks first come first served like other hotels, they wanted more money. The cocoon concept seemed pretty cool, except the room we got… - has no windows - is split in two vertically so you have to crawl around like you’re camping (hit my head twice) and the ladder is in the way of the bottom one - there is nowhere to put stuff except in the crawl spaces in front of the bed and one “platform” for one suitcase (no nightstand, no counter space in the bathroom, no closet, no hangers, no desk) had to use the toilet and the top of the garbage can - there is nowhere to sit except the bed, and the toilet - nothing in the room (no coffee, no iron, no hair dryer, no TV, no cups, no ice bucket, nada) - no front desk (though it says so on the amenities) only a row of iPads for self check-in and a few people loitering around - no phone to call the non-existent front desk to ask if they have any of the items above - lots of outlets for charging, yet none in the bathroom for hair drying (brought our own)(maybe it’s UK code) - not see through but translucent bathroom divider (I left the room while my daughter showered) - can’t turn the AC down below 19 degrees but room never got below 23 - then, to top it all off, they wanted £45 to out the bags in storage at checkout - same price as a few other “normal”/“real” hotels, not including early check-in fees and fee"

"This hotel is a luxury hotel if you squint hard enough. The bones are there. but there is wear and evidence of the need to constantly retrofit an old building into a modern hotel. It is not a great place for business. The cell service is spotty in the room we had, which messed up getting on work VPN. The lifts are inadequate for the size of the hotel. Breakfast was OK, not great value, but it is downtown London. The location is great. Really close to the Tube and connected that way to everything from Heathrow to all the tourist sites. It is really a great location and a cool building."

"Breakfast was good and slightly different everyday. The location is perfect for seeing all the attractions and to the underground if you want to get around that way. I was staying there for my birthday and they left a sweet note and a cute gift of teas for me! I didn’t even tell them it was my birthday so the fact they paid attention to that detail means a lot. I definitely recommend this hotel! "

"Great location, clean, and comfortable. Had ongoing issues getting towels, washcloths, hand towels throughout the stay (had to call down every day for something)… middle of the night call from room service, despite having not ordered. No follow up or apology from staff. Would probably stay again, but would go elsewhere if costs/location were equal. "

"One of the best breakfasts we’ve ever enjoyed. The manager and staff were very cooperative, especially as we have special dietary requirements my little one is coeliac (gluten intolerance) and there were also plenty of halal options available."
