Good staff, the area is not quiet since it is at the roadside and the rooms are not sound proof. They dont have a variety of food to choose from. My biggest setback was transportation, they dont have enough space for parking or pick up. The tours which I had booked i had to be picked and dropped off at the Residence Inn, I was very frustrated especially if i was dropped off at night.

It’s right off the side of the road so it’s extremely noisy from car traffic and they were still working on renovations so there was that added noise as well. Other than that the staff were very friendly and welcoming. They especially took precautions for my safety as a solo traveling woman. The room and hotel is beautiful. I had breakfast and dinner once and both were good as well as the drinks. I did have a bit of trouble with the AC in my room not turning off. Overall it’s a good space to stay if you want a more secluded spot a bit away from the bigger resorts in the hotel zone and don’t mind a less social environment.

The hotel photos are not reality. There was a swamp not a beachfront mosquitos where horrible. Hoyle is run down and even had caution tape in some areas. The rooms were cheaply constructed and the breakfast wasn’t free you have to pay for it. The food was good and the staff was nice but not a relaxing stay. Also had to get cans but uber actually works which is then best bet it renting a car

Staff and service were friendly, respectful, and responsive. The resort itself is a great spot for couples who prefer some time away from the party scene and are into taking some sweet pictures — hands down — the architecture of this resort stood out from all the others! Breakfast was reasonable, but just fruits. Swimming pools were nice, but didn’t go in myself. Room was 8/10 clean and balcony with partial ocean view was actually nicer than I thought, plus you can go to the rooftop pool at anytime for the panoramic ocean view! However, the resort at times had a slight smell that eventually goes away. At night motorcyclists speeding by the property at times kept us up (so make sure to close the second set of doors in your suite). Overall, 8.2/10 stay given the reasonable prices during Xmas season. Thank you Akuazul!

The room was great and clean, the staff was super friendly…the pool was super cold and a bit dirty. The 4 nights I was there, no one got in. The restaurant food was decent but very expensive… I asked twice for beach towels and both times none were available with dumb excuses. I asked for a blow dryer and also they were all “loaned out”. Improvements def needed

The complementary breakfast was fruit and choice of bread. On New Year’s Eve it was dead - I barely saw only on property and when I did they were complaining it was dead/ run down & goes elsewhere. These were not untrue facts. Jose, at the bar was amazing. I was on 4th floor and might have been the only one. View from balcony was beautiful- rooftop pool deck needs fixing. Beach access isn’t great. Much work needs to be done. Food is way overpriced - unfortunately I wouldn’t recommend people go. I was only there one night and I’m not sure how anyone could stay here more than a night. I never leave negative reviews but people do need to know - the photos of pool look current but nothing else.

Clean room but the room service was very sporadic. They missed one day for no reason. Had to request specifically. All the staff were quite aggressive and in your face about tips so i think it could've been due to that. Annoying when trying to do hotel transfer, I was quoted a USD price, but at checkout i was being charged a peso converted price. The prices at the restaurant and the portions made me depressed. You're for sure gonna be leaving the property for food. The property itself is very pretty and night time guys were very friendly at the desk. I liked you could chat with them via WhatsApp for front desk. I had a walk out pool upgrade which was also nice, but my poarch light was so dim it was useless at night whenever I'd be going for swims. Uber from there to get to places as it's a better option. Some of the tour pickups though it was a little out of their range but the Marriott nearby was a 10 min walk for pick up.

Staff was very friendly and nice. Hotel was quiet and safe. Loved walking out on the little deck and directly into the pool. Beachfront was clean, quiet, and quaint. Only complaint is the server wouldn’t let us take our coffee (from breakfast) to our room to enjoy on the deck while relaxing. I would like to suggest that a coffee & fruit/cookie station for early tour departures would be a nice addition.

The swim up balcony was a nice touch. Too much noise since next to major road. Repairs going on 2 days where the drilling was so noisy.

Akuazul Adults Only Resort is a really nice hotel with so much potential. When I stayed, it was under some construction, but you can already see how beautiful it’s going to be once everything is complete, this place should be looking incredible by 2026. The resort has a very unique style that sets it apart from more traditional hotels. My favourite places to hang out were the beach area, with all the funky outdoor furniture, and the rooftop glass pool, which was such a cool and memorable experience. The beach is on the smaller side, but that actually makes it feel very private and peaceful. There’s lots of creative wicker-style furniture made of sticks, including swings and multiple lounging areas that make it easy to relax and soak up the sun. A special shoutout to Jose! He was an exceptional waiter and truly went above and beyond. He would serve you no matter where you were on the property, always with a great attitude. Food and drink prices were very reasonable for a resort. Overall, Akuazul already has a great vibe, and once renovations are complete, it’s going to be something really special.

I spent a night at the Akuazul Resort, between traveling from Cancun to Merida in the Tren Maya. Antonio, the host, was fantastic, and allowed me a late checkout so I did not have to spend hours waiting to board the train. The restaurant staff was excellent, and treated me like family and the food was delicious. Overall, my stay at the hotel was fantastic. My room was very confortable, had a lovely view of the mangrove forest and sea, and I appreciated the double door system that significantly reduced the noice from the road. I would highly recommend it.
