"Very nice city hotel. Hotel is well-situated for exploring Ortigia. Room, with a view of the water, was quite nice and very clean. Staff was very friendly. Breakfast buffet was as expected for a property of this caliber. Hotel is located within restricted zone, so it was possible to drive to hotel but then necessary to valet park (at 50 Euros/day). "Great location made it easy to walk to most local attractions and good eating. Having the Palazzo Butera right across the street was a treat! You can get great views from there or enjoy a beautiful scene from the hotel’s own 4th floor restaurant/bar. Was unable to enjoy the spa services because they were fully booked. You may want to reserve a spot in advance. "

"The good: The staff is EXTREMELY helpful! They communicated very clearly through Expedia how parking worked, and that we needed a reservation with a garage 100m away. We also needed to register our car license plate with the city, as the hotel is in a controlled traffic area. The hotel managed the city registration and parking registration for us! "Nice location about 15-20 min drive from Syracuse town. Had some issue with a waiter serving the wrong items, but the hotel was kind enough to give us that for free, plus a nice bottle of wine that we had selected. Big pool area for both our hotel (the 4 star one, that Hotels.com have not updated yet) and the 5 star one. Great breakfast as well. Just miss the porridge which is more non existent all over Italy. "

"Good value for money - the hotel is in a great location for visiting Etna but is slightly too far up the hill to wonder into Zaffarena for dinner. Free and plentiful parking (in October).
