It is worth noting this was my first trip away in a long time and was my first time staying in Newcastle and I suffer from anxiety/paranoia and overthinking, having said that I'm new to staying in hotels overall. "Great service and hotel was well equipped with everything you need for a pleasant stay. Good location for the metro centre and easy to get to A1 and surrounding areas. Leisure facilities are good- swimming pool and sauna/steam and gym. Sunday was overrun with kids jumping in and couldn’t swim at all. As a parent I’m ok with children using the facilities and having fun, it just should be manned a little better. "This was a great place to spend our last night of travel.Train was accessible to go back into Newcastle for one last evening at the pub with family. We were a one minute walk to airport and rooms were comfortable. We had asked for early check in which wasn’t ready but one room was ready and we stowed all luggage in that room . "Perfect location. From our room we were lucky enough to have an amazing view of the Tyne Bridge. Presenter drinks on the outdoor terrace were lovely and a swim in the pool was a great start and end to a busy day sightseeing. Would highly recommend! "

"A lovely hotel in the most perfect of areas for exploring everything Durham. A little more tea and little checks of the room would’ve made it super. Only other slight disappointment was only small amounts of fruit at breakfast. Everything else was lovely including staff and general upkeep of hotel itself. Thank you for a great stay"

"Room smaller than expected. Curtains don’t close all the way. Bath tub curtain way too short. Water drips out when showering. Carpet not vacuumed. Has no view. Ambience good. Breakfast good w lots of options. Kitchen staff good and helpful. "

"The leisure centre was great. The swimming pool was clean, although the water could have been just slightly cooler. Happy hour in the bar Sunday to Thursday was a pleasantry, with £3 beers. The hotel is in a great location and close to lots of good value restaurants. Hotel staff were very helpful."
