"Awesome find. We love historic hotels worldwide and this one ranks near the top. Oldest hotel in Edinburgh 1854, a 4 star the has many small but unique amenities not found in 5 star hotels. Spacious room, comfy bed, coffee and tea, cockies.I see reviews about noise. Shut the window and use the AC and remember, you picked the heart of the city and not a country Inn. A full Breakfast was a 6.5/10 OK, very nice dining room with large windows. Minutes to Royal mile and most everything else. If ever...

"Hotel bem localizado, muito limpo e organizado. Ficamos em um studio com cozinha compacta, lava-louças e lava e seca. A equipe super atenciosa, com especial agradecimento à Laura, que nos recebeu muito bem e deu várias dicas para nossa viagem. Único detalhe negativo foi que ficamos no subsolo (mas o studio tinha janela externa) e o barulho da organização do café no térreo e o entra e sai da garagem nos acordou um pouco antes do horário que costumamos levantar. "The hotel is beautiful inside . My room was lovely and spotless . The hotel was clean . Most of staff at checkout are task oriented and their attitude does not reflect the level of service I’d expect in this prestige hotel therefore I will never be back . Also a hammering noise at 10 pm that went on for a good twenty mins wasn’t welcome . The waiting staff were very polite and friendly unlike the reception staff . "

"We stayed in the new section which is the building behind the main entrance on High St. It was super quiet, the apartments are handsomely appointed and the location was wonderful. So while you're in the heart of a tourist area, you'd never know it. We loved everything about this hotel and it has a great gym."

"I and my wife stayed over Christmas 2018 for 3 nights. All is fine. Just too small bed. Housekeeping service always forgot to put such things as Water, Shower Gel, Shampoo into the room. Breakfast is a kind of Continental one which are just bread and cold cuts. Staffs are all nice and friendly. Hotel and Room Condition is good. Location is perfect. "

"Children allowed in the bar area in the evening, unlike many pubs. Room was clean and modern, but musty smelling, and the lack of shower closure means water gets on the floor of the washroom.
