The hotel is a little dated but still well maintained, it is located on a little hill and have a nice view of the city. They have shuttle bus running to two subway stations, Yuanshan and Jiantan. And walking to Shilin night market takes only 20 minutes. As for the restaurants, prices are 5 stars but the food and the services are not.

Truly amazing place - absolutely huge and lavishly decorated. We got a corner suite which was absolutely worth it with amazing views across Taipei. The sauna at the Yang Shuan club is worth paying for, and the pool was lovely. Area slightly out of town but taxi/Uber very inexpensive, and Shilin night market and bus stops for Yangmingshan within ~15mins walk.

The Grand Hotel, which is full of historical sense, has experienced many major historical events. It has also received 111 heavyweight heads of state guests, including former US President Dwight Eisenhower, Thai King Bhumibol Adulyadej, South Korean President Park Chung-hee, Japanese Prime Minister Eisaku Sato, and Singaporean Prime Minister Lee Kuan Yew! Stepping into the hotel, we can not only deeply feel the gorgeous beauty of the architecture, but also deeply experience the pulse and legend of Taiwan's history！ The tour guide of the hotel is also very wonderful, the volunteer shared a lot of interesting and thought-provoking stories to us, very vivid! The food in various restaurants is also very good, . There is a Story of Stamps store, which is also reminiscent of the past and historical figures, I bought several sets of stamps. The accommodation is comfortable and the staff are very friendly. I will bring my family to come in the future. Thank you for the service of the Grand Hotel. 圓山大飯店充滿了歴史感的酒店，見證了很多歴史時刻, 還接待過很多到訪臺灣的重量級外賓，包括美國前總統艾森豪威爾等111位國家元首級賓客！不僅能深刻感受建築華麗之美，更能深度體驗臺灣歴史的脈動及傳奇！ 圓山大飯店的導覽也非常精彩，導覽的誌工給我們分享了很多有趣又讓人深思的故事，非常生動！還探尋了神秘的西密道，「世界最長的秘密滑梯道」， 這是當年為蔣中正先生及夫人宋美齡所預備的緊急逃生通道，需要提前預約。 住宿很舒服，員工很友好，還有各個餐廳的美食也很不錯。這裏有一間“郵票的故事”的商店，我買了很多套有紀念意義的郵票。期待以後還會帶家人來住。

The front office needs to be tidy。I saw the restaurant check out desk was a mess. I was dining in one night, and they would took dishes or objects in front of me, but without asking me first, which is rude. The guys at front door area were nice but their uniform were loose and unfit, no spiritual expression. Plus , they were a little old, although this is not an important issue. The hotel check in and check out service were excellent. People were polite, efficient, and very accurate! I rate them the best! we stayed for 4 days, front desk staff very indifferent , same as the breakfast buffet, staff need to be asked may times to take away used plates, dinner buffet so over priced with poor variety of choice. food not fresh at all! and do not use the hotel phone to call anywhere even within the city , they charge you like the telecom system in 1980's !
