We had a very pleasant stay. The kitchen staff worked hard and was very friendly. However, it would be nicer if they could keep the hot breakfast items hot or warm, since they had the facilities available. Also the carpet in the hallway was a bit old. Overall it is a good place to stay for its price.

The stay was very nice. Clean hotel and great breakfast buffet. We also liked that it was close to a catholic church. Ariel and Lexy were great. Coffee shop in hotel wouldn't serve us because we wanted only 1 coffee while we were waiting for our room

Love the neighborhood the hotel is located in. It's quiet and feels up-market. Free underground parking and decent buffet breakfast. The gym looked awesome but I was too tired to use it. There is also some restaurants and bar that open till late, and a Carrefour located in the same building as the hotel.

This is a very nice hotel and also an excellent value. Although it’s not centrally located in Taipei, I found it very easy to get to and from the hotel via mass transit. Also it was a great jumping-off place to get to hiking trails in Yangmingshan National Park. I just jumped in a taxi and was there in minutes. Mellow Fields was a very pleasant surprise!

It is an old hotel and thus some renovation will be appreciated. However, we do appreciate the details that the hotel looks into to make us as comfortable as possible - towels, toothbrush, good shower facilities, comfortable bed, etc - were provided. We appreciated the approachable service staff too. Definitely not a hotel about luxury, but the basics are well taken care of and pretty comfortable. Hotel is also next to a supermarket and within walking distance to the restaurants and shopping malls. Thus I would say the location is pretty good.

Mellow Field Hotel was by far the most comfortable hotel with the similar price rage that we stayed in Tienmu area. We liked the balcony so we can step out of our room and enjoyed the mountain view and fresh air. The Chinese/Taiwanese breakfast buffet was delicious. A simple salad bar and bread with butter & jam were also provided. The only disappointment is that the gym was open between 3 pm and 8 pm, not a 24-hour facility. We preferred to go to the gym in the morning and we were out sightseeing during the day. The operating hours of the gym was not practical. But overall, we were satisfied with our stay.

For the price, Mellow Fields was an excellent choice to get around the Shilin District conveniently. The front desk staff were friendly and professional. However, the place may need to work on its cleanliness: There were moldy spots in the bathroom and dusty corners in our room. Several bathroom tiles were chipped and the caulking was wearing off. There was a random construction box sitting on the balcony floor when we first walked in. The hotel lobby is spacious but, again, for the price you pay, don't expect anything beyond necessities. During our stay, we often saw and heard a maintenance crew working on the hotel ceiling. And yes, that was during the day when guests were casually lounging in the lobby. I'd come back for the price if I just needed a place to be in and out, but, otherwise, I would rather pay more for somewhere nicer.

Hotel staff were generally very helpful and polite. I was disappointed by the breakfast as there was little for non-Asian guests. Toast, cold eggs (very soft boiled) and empty platters of fruit. The “restaurant” only had large round tables for 8 people-not ideal for solo travellers. There was nowhere to change/freshen up for a late flight and no late check-out. No safe in the rooms so be mindful of any valuables you may have. There is a small fridge which was very useful. Bed was very comfy, and the black-out curtains much needed. There were small flying creatures in the bathroom until I purchased a plug-in. They were not mosquitoes. The carpets in the corridors are rather tired and when the elevator doors open there is an awful unwelcoming smell.

The Mellow Fields Hotel and staff were great; I enjoyed my stay. HOWEVER, the service of 3xp3d1a (this booking platform) left much to be desired. For well over a week prior to my stay at the hotel, this booking platform would not let me make a straight forward change to my booking. I found out that the hotel was more than happy to make the change, however, it had to be made by this booking platform as the booking was through it. While being polite, each contact with this booking platform deferred making the change and did not provide rationale as to why. I booked a 14-day stay at this hotel and requested this booking platform to remove just 3 days within (in the middle of) this duration. While not providing any reason, they handed my inquiry off to another rep, day after day, up until the check-in date. While I rate the Mellow Fields Hotel a 5 star, I rate this booking platform a 2 star (it would be 1 star if it weren't for their staff being very polite). RESULT: This booking platform did not impress and I (and family/friends) will remember.
