"This a perfect hotel if you want to be in the new town and are a close walk to everything. The hotel does require you to be able to use technology to check in but each room has everything you will need. The lounge was filled with a coffee bar and fresh pastries and place to rest. The room just felt cozy but professional."

"This was the PERFECT location and setup for us as a family of four with two kids (young enough to sleep together on a pull out couch). It was lovely, clean and had everything we needed. We could have used a fan a few times since we were there during a heat wave, but that was the only issue!"

"The Balmoral is a beautiful hotel! Its location is perfect since it’s close to all major attractions. The staff are accommodating and helpful. I’ve stayed in two different rooms and both were lovely and had great views. The restaurant is very good and the high tea in the Palm Court is superb!"

"Was going to write a reasonably balanced review but one that would reference a window that did not close resulting in a very disturbed night but I got such patronising response to my email that mild irritation has turned into annoyance bordering on anger. No excuse for poor maintenance and absolutely no excuse for taking such a patronising and irritating attitude when replying to a guest."

"The hotel is very well positioned on the beautiful Charlotte Square. It truth the hotel, compared with when I stayed there a few years ago, was a bit run down and even grubby. Needs a spot of paint and quite a lot more - rather disappointing."

"Overall the property was good but some things to note. 1. Hot water wasn’t working when we arrived. They had someone over within 2 hours to check it, and did end up fixing it within about 4 hours, it was frustrating after a long travel day. 2. The mattress was not very good and the bedding looked run down. 3. There is a little patio type thing that could be accessed by the bedroom, however the furniture out there looked dirty and it didn’t appear it was cleaned at all ever. Should just remove...

"Our "Castle view" was on the bottom floor completely blocked by trees. The shower head was loose and leaked. The washer /dryer in the unit didnt dry very well took 6hrs to dry clothes. Check in was smooth and apartment was very clean. Downside is in the summer heat theres no A/C and to combat it they give you a single desk top fan to keep cool at night."
