"Requested a room over the quiet, adult pool via Expedia (in Spanish and English) and at check-in. The kid at the desk said “yes, we have a great room for you,” and it was above the noisy, obnoxious kids’ pool. There aren’t nearly enough lounge chairs and umbrellas around the adult pool, and the rules about saving chairs are arbitrarily enforced. Several days people put towels on chairs all day and finally showed up late in the afternoon, or not at all. Other days the concierge ordered security to remove belongings at 7:30 am, when people had just stepped away for a moment. They need to move the massage tent as it takes up prime real estate and was used all of about 3 hours during our stay. The food at the buffet was improved over last year, with a little more variety, and they added “tea time” some days, and some fruit snacks. People smoked in the private beach area and put cigarettes out in the sand, with no cleanup - that was disrespectful and disgusting."

"I wish I knew before booking about the condition of this hotel, it was dirty, and it’s basically falling apart. At random times the most disgusting smell would come from the toilet it was unbearable o had to leave the room. The wall pant was chipped, mold in the bathroom walls, and one time I came out my room that was on the 8th floor to find the halls flooded with water, the leak dripped all the way down to the main lobby floor. The gym was small, most machines didn’t work and very dirty. Also when booking no one said about a 20 story high building construction happened right next to our hotel, it was very loud all day long. And there was no complementary coffee, we had to buy each cup of coffee cup that was served for a jar. Yet I did notice that when Americans would ask for coffee they weren’t being charged. There was cleaning service everyday but they would only clean the bathroom and do the beds, no sheet changing and no sweeping which made it hard to walk barefooted. "

"Was disappointed that my hair brush went missing. I understand that we and the staff were on lock down due to the car fires cartel business. I think the hotel should have stepped up and provided those products. The most disheartening was we were charged 100 dollars us to stay another hour after check out, with our flight being postponed. It was a good location. Eric and Darnell were fantastic by the pool."

"The property is very clean; dated but very well maintained. Hopefully the renovations will begin soon to update the rooms which is much needed. I have been here many times; there are a few differebt "types" of 1 bedroom layouts. We were in the smallest one. When asked to switch, it was declined and the supervisor (Ivan) we spoke to about it was rude. We had 6 small drawers for a family of 4 and had to basically live out of suitcases for 3 weeks. We had also requested a cot / roll away bed way before arrival. We checked in and told it will be in the room. Hours later, i went back to ask about it, and was told there is none. Meanwhile, there was one sitting outside the housekeepers closet on our floor for a week. I requested extra pillows and blankets and got questioned why i need them. I went to the front desk a few times the first week asking if theres space to move, and each time declined. The bell boys are AMAZING.... always super friendly. The restaurant staff are also fantastic. My kids particpated in the kids club activities - they were just ok, but staff were very friendly. For some reason, no music played by the pool area - only during zumba and aqua aerobics. And even then, it was very low. Food on site is good - just expensive for the small portions. Turndown service was inconsistent- some days we would get it plus fresh set of towels. Other days we wouldnt. Location of the resort is perfect. Central to everything, which is ideal. "

"Fabulous hotel, attentive staff, great location. This is a perfect hotel for people interested in a quieter part of Puerto Vallarta yet close to everything. The rooftop pool is a great place to enjoy the city and sunsets. "
