"I booked two rooms for my family, and our stay was a complete nightmare. We changed rooms more than three times, and every single one was dirty, outdated, and poorly maintained. We dealt with holes in the walls, dirty showers with hair in the drain, stained curtains, broken TVs, deteriorating ceilings, and even someone else’s personal belongings left behind. The hotel does a poor job maintaining cleanliness, upkeep, and controlling the environment on the property. Large groups of unsupervised teenagers were running through the halls, screaming late at night, and crowding the lobby and elevators. One night there was a girl sobbing loudly outside our room, and on another night kids were yelling that they didn’t care if people were trying to sleep. The elevators were dirty, overcrowded, and felt unsafe. Overall, this was one of the worst hotel experiences we’ve had. I wouldn’t stay here again even if it were free."

"Very clean room and friendly staff. Location is perfect. My only issue is the heat is supplied by a radiator, so there’s no way to control it. I had to turn on the AC to counteract the heat. It worked out, but just be warned if you’re a hot sleeper traveling in the wintertime. "

"Staying over NYE is a particularly busy time in NYC. We stayed 7 lovely nights in a two room corner suite, which was perfect for our family of 4. The hotel was at capacity. Regardless , rooms were clean and in good condition. We had a glitch at check-in: though they confirmed that we were 4 people, there was only one kind bed. They said they don’t have any more roll-aways. But they located some and fixed everything before bedtime. The doormen was alway cheerful and helpful. The location is very central; close to a number of subway lines going all directions. Overall we enjoyed the Warwick an would recommend it for a family stay in NYC. Note that this hotel is just a hotel: no shop, no restaurants, or food service. The housekeeping was generous. We made good use of the coffee machine and kettle! "

"Classic New York Hotel. It’s in the center of the rat race. The location is like downtown Chicago on steroids. The hotel itself was outdated, but had an old time class to it. Room was clean but had old carpet. The bed in my room was extremely comfortable!! The heater was very loud. It sounded like it was on its last leg at times. My friend’s heater also did this, I think it’s the age and model of the heaters. The food around town is amazing. By far some of the best food in the country. Hands down. Walking distance to these amazing food places wasn’t bad. Most of the staff at the hotel…just okay. Nothing too special, just seemed like they were going through the motions. New York is very overpopulated, especially on the weekends. Weekdays much more doable. Hotel gave a complimentary candy bar, bottle of wine, and bag of chips. Housekeeping was amazing! Very friendly, diligent, and helpful. The hotel gave meal vouchers for breakfast. You can use 2 a day, at different places. A couple of locations to choose from. The food is either free or at a low price. Many choices for food. Food is mediocre. You could sit down or take it to go. I would stay again. The property has a lot of potential, it could just use a major spruce up, while maintaining the classic style. New York always had things to do. Lots of choices when it comes to fun. "
