Excellent view on Ostuni from the room’s amazing terrace (we booked room with city view), very good breakfast with lots of options. Parking super convenient just across the street. We took a Tuktuk to the historic center (15 euro) and walked back, it’s an easy 10 min walk. Shower on the smaller side but otherwise a great hotel.

Wonderful place to spend a couple of days in Matera. Really enjoyed having the wonderful large terrace to sit and have a drink early evening and later when the town is all lit up. Delicious breakfast in cave and very friendly staff! Highly recommend

It was an amazing location right in the centre of the old town. Very beautiful and quiet. Many steps involved but it was high up so less than other places and if you are going to Matera, you need to be good with steps. Wish we’d stayed 2-3 nights.

I have wanted to stay in the Matera caves for many years in coming to italy and having finally got here, not sure why it took so long. Matera is one of the most beautiful places i have ever been and this was the perfect accommodation. Stayed in a cave suite which was a unique experience, very comfortable and spacious. The parking is close enough and we had no problem getting to the property although they will assist if needed. Breakfast was varied and served in a lovely area past reception: Would definitely book again when we return.

Very unique experience. The stay was fun, the staff was helpful, breakfast was very good, and the rooms were comfortable. We really enjoyed our movie night with the projector in our sitting room!

Great location in the middle of the sassi. We had the terrace room and loved sitting and people watching in the afternoon with a bottle of wine, and watching the sun go down. Very nice breakfast as well. They were able to help us book parking at local garage making it easy to arrive and leave town.

While getting here was challenging and you definitely don’t want to be lugging a lot of stuff like we were- the hotel and location is incredible. We had a lovely time and felt cared for by the staff. We used the spa and it was sooo nice after a long travel day. The bed was firm but we found that everywhere we went, The A/C could have worked a little better. Breakfast was lovely. Overall would highly recommend.

Our accommodations were lovely. Enjoyed the spa experience. Nice breakfast too. Located in Sassi halfway between the top and the bottom of the hill. I would estimate 100 steps either up or down. Be aware in order to have dinner or sightsee you must go up or down! You also have to carry your luggage. Would not recommend for anyone with bad knees. You can do a tuk tuk tour of Sassi instead and stay on top. It is a lovely town.

Amazing staff and cave hotel experience

Matera is not the easiest place to get to in first place. Due to unforeseen circumstances, we had to change plans and arrived by coach bus instead of rental car. The hotel contacted us a couple days before our check in and once they learned about our change if plans, they helpfully pointed out to us that our bus station is actually quite a bit of distance from the hotel. They then booked a taxi for us that waited at the bus station and took us straight into the restricted area inside the old town that saved us a lot of walking while carrying our luggages. Upon arrival, they clearly explained to us all the must sees, how to get to them and recommended food places. The room itself is just a spectacular experience. We booked the cave room for the experience and it was huge. Certainly gave us the unique experience that we were hoping for.
