"As a solo traveller commuting by bus I stayed one night stay in Newgrange hotel . I loved my room, the fact that my window could open my window outwards. I had ablovely breakfast to.include toast fruit small fry/ tea as requested and a small danish. I found staff attentive in the restaurant, morning and evening. The hotel public toilets were spotless. "

"As part of your stay, you have access to the lodges rather than the castle itself. The castle can be admired from the outside, but it is currently closed to the public, so you can’t go inside. The grounds are absolutely beautiful, very well maintained and a pleasure to walk around. The lodges are set up as individual houses, each with four rooms, a shared living room and a kitchen for guests staying in that house. The kitchen is equipped with a coffee machine and tea making facilities. The rooms and bathrooms are spacious and very clean, with plenty of natural light. The beds and pillows are comfortable, and there is air conditioning in the rooms. Booking an entire lodge for a family would be ideal, it really feels like having your own private house on castle grounds. We stayed in Arlington and absolutely loved it. We didn’t have any neighbours during our stay, which made it especially quiet and peaceful. That said, we can’t comment on how soundproof the rooms are. There are two restaurants on site. I would recommend choosing breakfast at the Kiln restaurant rather than the buffet included in the B&B rate, as the à la carte options are much better. There is plenty of parking available, and the views around the property are stunning. There is also a Jack Nicklaus designed golf course attached to the hotel, which seemed very busy, so it’s best to book your tee time in advance. Overall, we had a great stay and would come back in a heartbeat "

"Everything was perfect, I would stay here the downsides was the WiFi I think that was due to where the room was and we were suppose to get queen beds per description. Other than that I recommend staying here, food and pool is great! "

"Johnstown Estate looks great on the outside, on the inside however it has some issues. For a high class hotel, staff seem a bit disorientated at times when it gets busy. I stayed in a twin room with my friend. It was clean but smallish. Main issue in room heating would not work. My friend suffers from a long term illness and cannot be cold. It took several times for maintenance to fix heating, it subsequently came on for a couple of hours then went back off. We should have been offered a room change, disappointing. Lovely grounds but not used to full advantage especially with seating outdoors when weather is nice. Stayed in Dunboyne Castle the night before and have to say it was a much better esperience overall. "
