"This is a family run ryokan business by the Kouda family. We booked a house / villa that is with attached bath and toilets. It is a very traditional house with renovated bath & toilet and owners are friendly and accommodating . Location is not very accessible if you don't drive but they fetched us from wachi station as the ryokan is located 30 mins from local train. Would strongly recommend if you want a local ryokan stay experience."

We regretted we didn't have more than one night to enjoy this picturesque village and perfect house. It surpassed all expectations. "Our stay at the Kyoto Brighton Hotel was wonderful. The room was very large for Japanese standards. We had 4 adults and had plenty of room. We had a reservation including breakfast and the staff were extremely accomdating for my food allergies. All the ameneties and staff were wonderful. I highly recommend the Brighton Kyoto!"
"Family of four with neighbouring twin rooms. Reception staff very friendly and helpful. Very much a staffed hotel. Rooms and bathroom were clean. Beds were very comfortable. There were cups and kettle in room and tea bags available for self serve at reception along with toothbrush and toiletries although toiletries and washing liquid provided in rooms already. Area was safe and peaceful, walking distance to many sites and metro. Loved the back streets and restaurants, some european options too if desired. Free coffee machine and seating area in lonby was appreciated. We had breakfast included which was a mix of Japanese food and ham and eggs, croissants, toast, jam, yoghurt but 7 - 11 also next door for supplies if needed. Would recommend for anyone."
"Great location with shops and dining options right below the hotel. Rooms were a good size and very clean with a convenient mini sofa and table to allow for a quick snack/meal grabbed from the 7-11 downstairs. A bit of a walk to the nearest metro ~8-10mins."
"We loved our stay at the Rakuro hotel in Kyoto. It is a beautiful space with lovely rooms and peaceful communal spaces. The lounge is a lovely place to sit for a while after a busy day in Kyoto. The staff is kind and helpful as well! We enjoyed breakfast one morning as well. While it was a bit pricey it was nice and filling."
