"You can’t beat the location. It’s right by The Tower of London and Tower Bridge. It’s also very convenient to Tower Hill tube stop. We prepaid for the breakfast and it was filling and fast, as well as amazing. The concierge desk, particularly David, was a huge help on the trip. They held our luggage the first day until check in so we could explore. Very helpful when getting there from the States. There is also a Tesco nearby for snacks.
The only fault I had was the air handler was not able to cope with an admittedly unprecedented heat wave, so the rooms were a bit warm. Nothing we couldn’t cope with. Definitely will be staying there again."
"A centrally located hotel with easy access to the attractions in central London.
The lobby was hot and very busy on a late afternoon in June. The self check-in process was smooth, but my room key card wasn't programmed correctly. Having queued for a lift and wheeled my luggage to the furthest room on the floor, it was frustrating to need to return to Reception for a working key card.
The Reception staff were helpful in arranging a later, separate check-in for my companion.
The twin room was comfortable, with effective but noisy air conditioning.
We didn't pay extra for the buffet breakfast; there are many breakfast options nearby for a busy traveller.
Be aware that there is a £10 charge for left luggage."
"We booked based on the hotels.com website info and paid a price that reflected this being a hotel, however (apart from the room itself) everything else more like the hostel it has been taken over by. We felt very mislead. We received no replies to our messages via the hotels.com app pre-arrival, and the phone was not answered so parking wasn't booked. Check-in was chaotic. Lifts were not working and access to rooms was via a narrow metal spiral staircase. Breakfast was very disappointing - poor quality food and limited options, especially for hot breakfast - beans, hash browns, cheap sausages and a hard boiled egg in its shell! It was fine for a hostel but we'd paid hotel prices! Worst of all was when the fire alarm went off during the night. Not the hotel's fault, obviously, but very fortunately it was not a real fire as it was utter chaos for 1.5 hours while the alarm kept ringing. If there were any staff managing things we didn't see them - before the fire brigade arrived and said there was no fire there was no attempt to evacuate the building. There was zero communication or instruction throughout, no checking if rooms had been evacuated or roll call, no assistance for people with young children on the spiral stairs. People all over the building were wondering what on earth was going on. On the plus side the room was fine, the few staff we saw were lovely, and it's a great location."
"Room described as compact/ very small. For a couple with two small suitcases there was not space to open both at once. No electric jug or tea making facilities in room."
