"They asked if we were celebrating anything, we told them we were celebrating an anniversary. They proceeded to not do anything to make us feel special. In that case, why ask? There was mold in the bathroom. Wish I took pictures but if you’re in room 2548, the bathroom ceiling is very moldy. Coming home, all my clothes reeked like mold. There were a couple employees that were very nice. But overall would not stay here again. I wish there was more information online about restaurants/food was available as well as excursions offered. I also don’t think they like Expedia guests.."

"Gift store a bit over priced but fantastic resort, we used spa and had some treatments and it was wonderful. Great beach and pools. Food was also good Beach part was the staff , all very friendly and helpful My trip was for dental work and the dentist right across the street 😎"

"Beach wad great . Too many ataff that didnt speak English and gave wrong informationon. Key card to room 3 times didnt work and had to wait each time in line which added up to over an hour. Our room air wasnt working and they did upgrade us which was awesome Excursions we purchased in lobby was great but told times and took over 3 hours from 630am pickup time yo get to destination due to numberious other stops along the way as well as returnback. Overall was good minus other issues listed."

"Room Cleanliness 8/10 Lobby Cleanliness 9/10 (Probably the most upkept part of the hotel) Pool Loungers 4/10. Pool 7/10 - the pools were big, but the tile felt slimey. Got the ickies towards the end. Beach view was really nice. Drinks were 9/10. Buffet 5/10 - Food tasted a day old and bread was stale. The fruit was fresh but everything else was mid. The tables and chairs were super dirty and stained, i mean at least get new covers. The restaurants in the hotel were super mid and furniture looked dated. Spa was a 2/10. Smelled soooo gross in the womens lockers, like urine & mold - the smell of musty towels and sewage. Usually when you walk into a spa it smells like Eucalyptus or Lavender in the lobby. Not the case here. They take you through a water journey which is Sauna- if you do a couples massage be aware if someone has the same slot as you they will join you. Massage was whatever - paif extra $80 for hot stones and was underwhlemed. The table where they give you a massage wasnt covered and i just didnt trust the cleanliness at all. The water in the hot tub and tile was also slimey. I asked for my money back of course they said no. Disappointed for sure. But overall we made the best of it. Not the worst, but definitely not 4-5 or 5 star hotel. Definitelu Mid and in DESPERATE need of updates."

"The property was well clean and well maintained. Restaurant choices not as great as years past but the staff was outstanding. Betsabe and Blanca are two world class Restaurant Mgrs. They can solve any problem. Very professional, intuitive and customer oriented. Royal Sands is very lucky to have them both. Eduardo and Moises are the best of the best at the Char Hut. All of the staff are excellent there. "

"The property has a beautiful layout with a separate adult pool. The rooms are well kept and maintained. It’s located close to amenities and nightlife. This resort has some constriction going on this time for renovations, therefore, only limited to two restaurants and a snack bar rather than the 4 restaurants. The staff is friendly and accommodating."
