Hidalgo Packages (Flight + Hotel)

While I feel some things need updating over a nice place to stay, the food was okay we found the specialty restaurant were better than the Buffets

Adults only, nice and quiet. Staff were all very friendly and accommodating. Food options very good.

We stayed at this hotel from Sept 23–29 with family and friends. Overall, the facilities were clean and well-maintained. Our room was spacious with a beautiful view of both the beach and the pool from the balcony. The Murphy bed was comfortable for the kids. Dining options included a buffet, Mexican, Italian, sushi bar, and sports bar. Reservations were fairly easy (from 8 AM daily), and the à la carte food was great. However, the buffet had limited variety, and the sushi there was disappointing. The pool, hot tub, and small waterslide kept the kids entertained. The beach was just steps away, which we loved. There was a kids club, but we didn’t use it much. Some activities had extra fees. Overall, we enjoyed our stay, but a few things were frustrating: -Tips didn’t seem to be appreciated, I tipped $1 when getting a drink or even tipping $5 while ordering lunch for family, received no attention. It was only when my friend (perhaps by mistake) tipped $10 that the server suddenly gave our group lots of attention. Since we were on an all-inclusive plan, this level of service—despite the generous tipping—was disappointing. Many food and drink items came with unexpected extra charges. It was also quite inconvenient to have to hand over your room key and say your room number every time you ordered something. Rooms were clean and mostly quiet. But if you like nightlife, this place may feel a bit too quiet. Also, soundproofing wasn't great—noisy neighbors could be an issue.

The 4-star rating for staff and service (instead of 5) is due only to the poor check-in experience. We had booked two king-bed rooms, but were given one king and one double-bed room on different floors. The staff suggested we could have two nearby ocean-view rooms if we paid an additional $600 USD, which was disappointing—especially since it was the off-season and there were plenty of empty rooms on each floor. It felt like they were trying to push an unnecessary upgrade. Aside from the check-in issue, the service overall was excellent, and I would still recommend this hotel.

Everyone was so friendly and welcoming, always going out of their way to make sure we were comfortable and having fun. The atmosphere is electric — full of laughter, great music, and good people. The entertainment team deserves a shoutout for keeping the party alive day and night! The food was delicious, and the drinks were top-notch. I loved how every night had its own unique theme — it made every evening feel like a new adventure. The rooms were spotless, modern, and beautifully designed. Whether you’re relaxing by the pool, dancing at Bash, or enjoying dinner by the beach, there’s never a dull moment. This was truly a one-of-a-kind experience — fun, classy, and unforgettable. I can’t wait to come back!
