"An Amazing Traditional Japanese Experience with Mt. Fuji Views you won’t ever forget! We absolutely loved our stay at Hotel Green Plaza Hakone. If you want to experience traditional Japan while visiting Hakone, this is a wonderful place to stay. My favorite part was the traditional Japanese tatami room. I highly recommend booking a room with a Mt. Fuji view—waking up and seeing Mt. Fuji from the hotel made the experience unforgettable. The traditional Japanese bath house (onsen) is a must. Being able to relax in the hot spring while looking at Mt. Fuji was one of the highlights of our trip. It’s an experience you really shouldn’t miss. Definitely include dinner with your stay. There were so many unique Japanese dishes to try, and the quality of the food was excellent. The breakfast was out of this world too—so much variety and a great way to experience different Japanese foods. What makes this hotel special is that it’s more than just somewhere to sleep. You get the full Japanese experience. You can put on the traditional yukata robes and wear them around the hotel and grounds, which makes the stay even more fun and memorable. One tip: wear your yukata and walk out to the garden for photos with Mt. Fuji in the background. We got some beautiful pictures there. If you’re visiting Hakone and want tatami rooms, onsen, great Japanese food, yukata, a wonderful staff and spectacular Mt. Fuji views all in one place, I highly recommend Hotel Green Plaza Hakone. "The room booked originally said shared dormitory for 2 on the hotels .com app but when we arrived it was a room shared with 2 other males which was not acceptable. The lovely man on reception helped us to change to a double room but obviously it cost more but the room was very good and spacious . Check your booking carefully to avoid this mistake . There is a public onsen which was great There are no showers or baths in the room but a toilet . The bus stops outside the road leading upto the guest house and it is only a short walk to the lake and the main tourist attractions at Togendai . Restaurants nearby are open in the evening but close early . We had no problem finding something to eat . It is in a beautiful location"
