Perfect location

This is a great hotel! The location is wonderful, everything is very clean, and there’s a lovely kitchen room with coffee and tea. There are one of two coffee shops in the block where you can get a pastry to go with your coffee! We loved this place and would stay there again!

This Guest House is right in the heart of Florence and close to all the major attractions you want to visit and restaurants. From here, everything is walkable--Dumo, Uffizi, Acadamia, Arno River, San Croce, etc... I cannot stress enough how perfectly situated you to explore pretty much everything you'd want to do here. Check-in was easy. And the room (with A/C) and shared kitchen have all the right touches. .

Excellently positioned, very close to Uffizi, Palazzo Vecchio, Bargello, Duomo, Ponte Vecchio etc. Very kind and helpful receptionists, gave us good advice re local breakfast and dining options. My husband and I very much enjoyed our stay at Relais Cavalcanti. Anna, Francesca and the young woman who met us when we arrived were delightful. I stayed at Relais with a friend for three nights in early August. The location is very convenient, within walking distance from many major landmarks in Florence. The room was clean and comfortable (the A/C was especially appreciated given the time of year), and the common kitchen area was a nice place to relax and have breakfast on days with a slower start. Anna provided a lot of great suggestions for places to visit and also helped us make a couple of restaurant reservations. Check-in and check-out were both smooth and efficient.

Before I get to the good stuff, I would suggest that if you have mobility issues, the Relais is not for you. There is a stairway you must climb to reach the elevator. If climbing stairs is not an issue, the Relais is a great place to stay while in Florence. The owners and staff are very friendly and speak English. The atmosphere is very relaxed and informal. The building is old, dating I think, from the 14th century. Therefore, it's not a sleek, modern facility. But it is very interesting! Staying in a room with very high ceilings was unique. The bathroom was very modern and clean. The Relais is in a great location too. It is easy walking distance from the railroad station. We used the high speed trains for day trips, including one to Venice. It is also very close to the city center with the various museums, squares, bridges over the Arno, etc. We definitely would stay there again if in Florence.

a little gem

A very pleasant place right in the heart of town, and yet on a quiet little corner. The people who own and run it are very nice, as was the staff person I frequently encountered. There is no breakfast but there is a room with coffee/tea (that you can use throughout the day) as well as plates and stuff if you want to bring in your own food. The room was clean and well-kept. Between the quality of the room, the location, and the people, I was very happy with my stay and would gladly stay here again.

The RC guesthouse was perfect in every way, from host Francesca, who was accessible and helpful, to the daily room cleaning woman from Peru, who was thorough and cheerful, to the comfortable accommodations, to the central location. I give RC 6 out of 5 stars!
