We stayed in a room with two beds that was spacious and bright, with comfortable beds, a beautiful bathroom with separate shower and a giant tub, and daily "treats" and lemon water for turndown service. "The pool was a highlight, the deck wasn’t always clean (hair clips and used bandaids there for each of the 3 days we were there), but the water was warm and seemed clean. The room was nice. Clean, comfortable. The tv didn’t work, but we didn’t go to Van to watch tv. The main downside was the parking. Their lot is under construction, so the only option was valet at $45 a day extra, and it took 15-20 min for the valet to pick up our car each time (which they did tell us about). Overall, fine...

"What they don't tell you about the partial ocean view in the king-size balcony room is that you have to go out onto the balcony and turn to the right to see the partial ocean view you can't see it from your window The balcony was covered with pigeon poop so I couldn't even sit out there. The part of the air-conditioning/heating unit that was outside on the balcony was also covered in pigeon poop and I didn't dare use it for fear that the air coming in would be contaminated."

During my stay in the Jade Suite, I experienced multiple maintenance and safety issues. The fireplace repeatedly failed to ignite and instead emitted a strong gas smell into the suite.
