"Stayed here on a family holiday in 2 double rooms. Convenient location as we were driving and good value. Very helpful staff. Clean rooms with amenities available as required. Dining options are available nearby; the sushi place directly across the road is excellent! Would be happy to recommend to others who would like a slightly unusual place to stay "

"The hotel is a little dated, decore-wise, but everything is very clean and the Onsen are very nice (we're first time users). Staff are very helpful! Would stay here again."

"From the moment I was picked up by their private shuttle, I felt very taken care of! I’m a solo traveler & this location & ryokan experience was exactly what I was looking for! The Japanese style room was clean, comfortable & quiet, & I was overwhelmed by the beauty of the lake view! The traditional ryokan breakfast & dinner were delicious & plentiful! They do remind you several times before arrival that this is a set menu, & there are no substitutions, so if you have any food allergies or certain dietary requirements, this may not be the proper place for you. Also, if you have a tattoo, you will need to book a private onsen time. I appreciated that the staff are wonderfully courteous & welcoming, & I do appreciate their policy of keeping track of every guest when one leaves the premises for an outing by turning in room key, then picking it back up when returning. The location is wonderful if you would like to be away from much of the tourist traffic. My dream of a clear day & view Mt.Fuji from atop their premises was magical! Thank you Wakakusa no Yado Maruei Ryokan!"
"The shuttle bus service from the station was fantastic. All their people were very friendly and helpful. We had the best view of Mt. Fuji. The hotel surrounds were beautiful gardens kept immaculately. We would highly recommend this hotel. Lovely spacious rooms too. Shower over bath thouh. Also lake not far to walk. and tourist bus service to the lake areas, etc. And to the kimono museum; must see. The Kawaguchiko station is very crowded with hundreds of tourists but efficient service to get through. Make sure you book your train ticket seat. Train very crowded. "
"Amazing property built into the hillside. Rooms have phenomenal views of Mt Fuji. The staff is excellent, providing great service. Delicious food, too!"
