"The breakfast was not good parking was nice"

"The guy working the desk at night has about as much customer service energy as a wet towel. But I bet it's pretty sweet to get paid to sleep! Had to wait a while for him to wake from his slumber to check me in. After being on the road for 7 hours, you can imagine I was just ready to get into my room to crash out. But between his slow service and the room I'd already booked and paid for, insurance included, not being available for some reason, check-in wasn't exactly quick and easy. The place is extremely clean, which is big plus. The suites are spacious. The bed was not great. Pillows were lumpy, the mattress had to be a good 20 years or so old and it showed both in how it felt and its nice yellowed hue, and the bed sheet barely fit the bed, so it bunched up easily as I slept. Needless to say, it wasn't a great night's rest, which was really the only thing I needed the room for. Beyond that, I didn't spend much time in the room. My key cards also stopped working twice in the barely 2 nights I was there. It was quite inconvenient to have my arms full of stuff only to realize my key wasn't working, and then have to reload everything back into my car and drive around to the front of the building to get a new key card before driving back to the entrance closest to my room to unload again. All I wanted to do was sleep, and it seemed like so much hassle for such a short stay. My key card quit working AGAIN, as I was preparing for checkout. "

"This was my second stay at the Deerfield Marriott. It is clean and comfortable."

"We only stayed overnight because it was a last minute booking ( delayed planes, traveling with a 2 and 5 year old, etc etc.) everything was clean and comfortable. I will say things did feel a bit outdated but nothing too crazy. The way the rooms are set up inside the building are cool. I gave this 4 stars because according to my husband, he couldn’t sleep because he felt something was watching him and it gave him an overwhelming sense of dread. Then the following morning my 2 year old comes to me and says “I scared” and points to the general area my husband felt he was being watched at. So that freaked me out and we ended up checking out hours earlier than needed. Then later my husband asked me to look up if anything happened at this hotel so i did and found that an 18 year old ended his life in this hotel. So i don’t know if those things are connected but it made me feel weird. Other than that, the hotel is decent."

"Everything was fresh and clean. The staff was amazing, extremely attentive. The breakfast was plentiful, lots of options to select from each day. Not far from the Naval Base, Great Lakes."
