"Awful. Had homeless on the entry steps. Police in reception dealing with something. Delapidated. And needs money to at least fix cracks in wall and paint it. Needs a good clean the stairs had years of dust on them. Looks like a hotel that the owners have just forgotten about."

"Room - Spacious with gorgeous view. We stayed in the standard double. For the price we were really impressed. Only issue was with the on-suit shower. The main shower head was not high enough, so I couldn’t stand upright in the shower (I am 6ft exactly) The second shower head that was available leaked on the connector slot, spraying water everywhere, but for an overnight stay it was manageable. Towels were offered. Bed was form and pillows were comfortable. We really enjoyed our stay....

"We used to stay here many years back when visiting relatives in the area. Now it has turned into a Spa Resort, great for those who like and want to be pampered, no problems there, but we did find the restaurants evening menu is now very restricted for choice., plus there was always cold blasts of air, making it very uncomfortable to dine. Back in the day the then Ostler restaurant was far superior"

We had dinner in the pub and the food was lovely. Breakfast was alright, perfectly acceptable, but nothing particularly memorable. The outdoor area was a real highlight for us as a family.
