This is a budget hotel and extremely good value for the low price I paid. Some very good points... Room fairly spacious, warm radiator, lots of hot water, safe place to park the car, pretty central as just off the M6, unlimited supply of coffee tea milk and sugar, easy to operate small TV adequate size for the room, bed very comfortable . The staff were very helpful and efficient.
Negative points are few but relate to bathroom in particular. Needed a good clean in some areas and older fittings were a bit 'creaky' but nothing a touch of WD 40 wouldn't put right. Perhaps newer tiling and regrouting in the shower but plenty of hot water any time. As I was pleased overall with my stay, I mentioned these points to receptionist as I checked out so that they might be rectified to prevent other guests downgrading the whole experience because of a few faults. People can be mean. I would recommend this hotel on being a great price for good facilities.
Had I read the reviews I would have stayed away from this place.
It's very out dated, and not very pleasant. From the unclean rooms and very out dated decor. To the residents who must live in the other hotel room full time. This place definitely is the worst hotel I have stayed in.
Luckily for us it was just a quick sleep stop but now wish I carried on driving home the extra 3 hours. Also they don't have a bar and restaurant so do no expect food and drink to make you stay that bit less horrendous.
Real easy freindly check in. Rooms are clean and adequately appointed. It was a spacious double room, with generous size bathroom with bath tub. Its nice to have iron, ironing board, trouser press, hairdryer and fan. Unfortunately the pillows are a bit inadequate. Provided with 3 very flat, very warn pillows for a double room for two people. We put up with this as it'd been a long day and couldn't be bothered to go to reception. Im sure they would have sorted thisbout if we'd asked. Also the shower (which mixer looks to have been recently replaced) was very temperamental. Basically a lot of fiddling to get a usable temperature, the finest adjustment being either very cold or scolding hot. Overall for a 2 star hotel at the price we paid a reasonable stay and somewhere we would stay again for affordable hassle free accommodation.
Never returning. Window catch screws hanging out. Mould in 3 places in bathroom. Dirt in bottom of wardrobe.
When I checked in guy was talking to someone through ear buds. Slapped a card machine in my face no how much I was to pay.
2 big flats across the road were broken into.
Food down the road by Aldi very nice.
Black mould around the bath. Inadequate heating, the radiators didn’t switch on and made the room quite cold. My room tv arial was broken, however the receptionist was very helpful and sourced me another arial cable from another room.
The building is run down the hotel had semi permanent residents who looked like they were waiting for interviews with the government for residency in this country also families who must be waiting for social housing cars were being repaired on the carpark area kids running riot it seems more like a block of unloved flats. We didn't get out of the car couldn't see any signs for reception my partner was completely disheartened by the sight before her and was adamant that she would not stay there we had to find another hotel very disappointed by tollgate hotel in stoke why are Expedia are advertising this place....not happy at all!!!
This used to be a nice place to stay, however now its nothing but a lodging for immigrants and single mothers with kids that need housing. Kids running around until approximately 02.00 so if you want a good nights sleep then forget it. Hotel rooms need a good clean and overhaul. No lock on bathroom door so left to swing in the breeze. No window stay on the bathroom window so had to prop open with a shower gell. Toilet seat and lid very loose and sliding plus toilet roll holder fell out of the wall when unravelling toilet roll.Room itself had greasy headmarks on the opening windows, stains running down the wall that haven't been wiped away and above the headboard was a dirty wall where people have sat up on the bed with dirty or greasy hair. Door to room had wooden panels with at least 3 having cracks in them upto about 5 mil wide.
There used to be a bar..... no longer there and no breakfast offered as the restaurant has been closed down.
Had it not been the night before fathers day and letting my Dad down we would of quite happily drove the 120 miles back home. There were no rooms available in any other local hotels including Premier, Travelodge and Holiday inns so all in all not a good experience..... These conditions may be ok for people needing social housing funded by the tax payer but not paying guests stuck in the odd room between these people living there
The property needs a serious overhaul looking very dated in decoration.
Old wall paper on the walls with marking on the paper , carpets need a refresh , small tv which needs to be replaced with a new tv on the wall.
Bathroom shower worked but needs a new shower as i couldnt properly turn the shower off after use.
Minamul tea facilities in room.
Veru poor standard of accommodation but it was quite cheap hotel .
Think i will book a different hotel next time
