"Solo traveller - Warm welcome. Everywhere clean. Very comfortable room. Lovely staff. Excellent choices for breakfast and dinner, good quality food. Prices are high but that is the same wherever you go in Iceland. Lovely spa and pool. Would definitely recommend this hotel.
One thing I would point out, you must book a seat on the return bus to the bus station/airport. Don’t, like me, assume the bus will just turn up. If you don’t book it with reception it won’t come.

"My father and I just had a recent stay at Hotel Borg for three nights. We were very upset with the service from the housekeeping staffs looking after our room. When we first arrived to our room, we found out that our welcome fruit basket was empty. That was not what we expected to see at a (5-star?) luxury hotel (as stated on the hotel’s own website). "Loved this hotel. Located just a short drive (or Uber) outside of the city, it's a nice, clean, fairly modern space. Staff could not have been nicer or friendlier, breakfast - which was included for us - was great and plenty. Parking is key, and convenient for us to get out to sightsee and explore the city, but also for a quick getaway to the airport early in the morning. "The location is very central to downtown Reykjavik. Everything is within reasonable walking distance. We told the hotel that we were there for our engagement and the hotel accommodated us with pastries and rose petals. The bar and restaurant was very delicious. If you bring a car the parking is a little confusing and tight but very reasonable."
