"It was like staying at your grandmother‘s house and was just as welcoming. It appears to be an old single-family home that they’ve converted into private rooms. I believe I stayed and what it was once their front parlor complete with a spinet piano. Overall, it was a lovely quiet stay."

"The hotel is very artsy. Very comfortable and visibly appealing. Check in was a little confusing. There are two Hotel Akureyri’s. One is being constructed and the other is the original. GPS will bring you to the one currently being constructed. Even with construction the hotel is still open to guests and is where breakfast is served, however, our hotel room was in a totally separate building a few businesses down the road. "We arrived at the apartment with no check-in information. Nothing by e-mail,so we called the office to get the room number and door code. Unfortunately the room was occupied by other two guests, they were shocked. That was the wrong number we got. I tried to call the office again and again and gain the line was so busy and coursed more expenses for telephone bill roaming charge. After the fifth call, we finally got the correct code and room munber"
