"We stayed at La Playa for our mini moon and it was wonderful. We absolutely want to come back. Beautiful, well located, super friendly and attentive staff, excellent breakfast and just great all around. We felt spoiled."

"The room was very clean. Housekeeping is by request and we liked that. The plants are well maintained as well as the physical hotel. This hotel is located right across the street from the farmers market that is every Thursday."

"We stayed at the original motel on this site, the Carmel Sands Lodge beginning in the 1990s. We paid $125/night. The hotel is vastly superior now to what it was then, but it has probably increased in price more than the improvement in the property itself. Nonetheless, we will continue to stay there given the level of comfort we experience. We are disappointed that if we try to add a night to our stay after the original reservation is made, that the nights we have already reserved are...

"Great Location. Friendly Staff!"

"It was lovely"

"Hotel Carmel was amazing. The lobby was so adorable. The hotel provides a free happy hour with wine and sangria, chocolate chip cookies and daily breakfast. The room was large, very clean and well stocked. We would definitely stay again."

"The Normandy is a beautiful cozy inn tucked in the shopping district of Carmel by the sea. Perfect for walking to the cafe for breakfast or a romantic dinner around the corner."

"Really like the hotel the lady that I believe probably owns It was very sweet, pleasant and helpful. She had good tips for us where to go. The only drawback was there was no microwave in our room and I had some yummy leftovers and I would've loved to have heated them before we had to leave . But other than that, I would stay again."

"This is our first time staying here. Everything was amazing. Yes it’s an older hotel but has such a personality. Staff were very accommodating. Beds really comfortable. Hotel is conveniently located downtown and walkable to many restaurants and shops. Very good Italian restaurant on site. Highly recommend both hotel and restaurant. Most affordable for Carmel."

"Really enjoyed our stay here - lovely room with high quality furnishings and linen. The breakfast and happy hour were really great touches! Parking a bit tricky - small spaces and limited. Having said that, we always got parked! Great location in the centre of Carmel! Staff also super helpful arranging to post an item we accidentally left behind. We would absolutely stay again!"

"Super clean room and bathroom. Convenient location, reasonably priced. The lady who checked us in was informative and very pleasant."

"Would definitely stay here again. It was so convenient to downtown and the beach nd restaurants and decorated very well with the best breakfast!!! The employees were so friendly and helpful. 5 stars!!"

"Terrific breakfast; excellent housekeeping. So very helpful being able to check in a little early after a full day of traveling. Absolute professional, yet friendly staff combined with luxury all around. Loved the location to shopping, restaurants and the beach! The courtyard is beautiful, although some short-term visitors claim the entire space as their own as an office, talking louding on the phone or as a party gathering. This isn't thoughtful of others who have paid for quiet and relaxation...

"We would stay there again."

"Room and bath were very clean and updated. The location was a perfect walking distance to the Main Street and there was plenty of available parking. The staff were also very friendly and let me check in an hour early!"

"Good location, good service, room is clean. "
