"Overall a good experience, the room was clean and that’s really what matters. The room itself wasn’t quite as modernly furnished as the pictures make it seem. The most frustrating part is they charge a $30 parking fee per night and $10 facilities fee that is not clearly stated. This is a rip off in my opinion and should be more clearly stated, especially given there is no lack of parking on the grounds. Overall a good stay, but be aware it is a minimum of $40 more than it appears."

"Clean roll, ocean view was stunning! Delayed in checking in. Check in was 4 but didn’t get our room til 5. Waited in the lobby. Lobby was beautiful and stunning ocean view."

And the breakfast—wow. I almost never eat breakfast, but this one was seriously amazing and totally worth it. Such a great experience overall!"

"The Normandy Inn is a wonderful place to stay. Stayed there now twice, we love it! Beautiful grounds pretty flowers everywhere! The staff continues to be warm and welcoming! The beds are very comfortable and the rooms are cozy! The location is perfect for visiting Carmel. "

"We called ahead to avoid being put in a room we had stayed in before, where staff constantly walk past the window at the exact height of the bed. There are no top-down curtains, so this feels very intrusive. Guess what room we got? Yep. The same one. We have stayed here 3 times, and 2 of those have been terrible. Great location, but very poor layout, and the staff seems frustrated with their jobs, so not responsive to guests. "

"The property is really cute and the location is excellent! It is within walking distance of Ocean Avenue where there’s lots of shopping and a variety of restaurants. Be aware it is an old inn so it does not have air conditioning and the wall heater in the bedroom will not heat the bathroom. Other than that, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. "

"We had a wonderful stay at the Candle Light Inn. The front desk clerk was incredibly warm and friendly, which made us feel welcome right from the moment we arrived. Our room was beautifully decorated, complete with large jetted tub and a cozy fireplace that made the space feel extra relaxing. The bedding was unbelievably soft—like sleeping on a cloud!
