"We had a great stay at Tradewinds Carmel! Christine greeted us with a warm welcome. The location was perfect - tucked away, quiet, yet a short walk to all the shopping and restaurants. A wonderful hand-selected breakfast was delivered each morning, and we enjoyed it in the lovely garden area. Our room was very nice, especially the view of the ocean."

"We stayed for a weekend getaway and the room itself was perfectly comfortable, nice enough, though more corporate and sterile than I typically like. But the customer service was consistently some of the worst (and strangest!?) we've encountered. The Big Sur Marathon was happening on our checkout Sunday, something the hotel never once mentioned during booking or check-in. Staff told us we couldn't leave until after the race when highway 1 reopened and that late checkout likely wasn't an option. No solutions, no alternatives, no apology. Even stranger was when we looked into the marathon details ourselves, there were actually multiple windows where we were able to leave. Information the hotel had and never offered when we (and many other guests) asked. Instead, multiple staff members tried to upsell us on a brunch at the hotel restaurant. We spoke to 5+ different staff members throughout this ordeal. Each one managed to be uniquely unhelpful in their own way. For the price point and the setting, you expect a certain level of hospitality. Will not be recommending or going back!"

"Overall disappointing ; I did not enjoy my stay at this hotel. -Terrible Wi-Fi and terrible internet connection that continuously dropped off. - Shower had so much water pressure but w/ only half of a glass shower door like in Europe, water sprayed alot outside the shower creating a mess to clean up every day. - Daily resort fee of $40 per night but no great amenities other than for golfers. Hot tub was unusable since it was always full of people. - Disliked that they charge extra $20 per night for parking which is not included in Expedia's total resort fee. And there was not enough convenient parking near my building."

"5⭐️ customer service. 1⭐️for Expedia My room was cancelled because my credit card didn’t go through. The room was cancelled 3 days prior to arrival. The same day I received an email from Expedia saying you are all set for Carmel. I was never notified by Expedia that the credit card didn’t go through. Luckily the hotel had 1 room for 1 night and the hotel gave me a cheaper rate for my ocean view room than Expedia. The hotel brought Champagne to my room for the inconvenience. The next day the hotel had a cancellation and offered to move our luggage for us to the room at 11 am. Hotel staff was phenomenal. I called Expedia and their customer service was horrible. They offered zero assistance and their only solution was to prepay for the hotel in the future. This was a perfect example of poor customer service The hotel was beautiful , clean, charming and phenomenal employees. Thank you for turning this into a great experience for less money."
