"Parking is tricky, but we found a free parking lot close by. Check-in was easy and Livia was a gem full of helpful tips and resources. Check out - the front desk guy wasn’t very helpful. We paid the city tax in cash and wanted our change in coins - just a few coins to use in town- very much needed in Italy and he wasn’t willing to provide coins or even break a ten. He offered no assistance. Overall the room, spa and property is nice. No restaurant during off season, but the breakfast provided...

"The staff was so welcoming from the time we arrived. The hotel property is beautiful. It’s about a 20 minute walk to Florence but they also have a shuttle. I’m a walker so I preferred to walk but it does have hills. The breakfast was so delicious I miss it. They have free parking which was important to us because we were renting a car to drive to Tuscany area."

"The building doesn’t look like it has had any money spent on it since the 1980’s.Very shabby hotel, shame on the owners, it could be fab. Had holes in sheets and towels. No duvet it’s a 1950’s style blanket between sheets. Not hygienic these days. Dirt and dust everywhere. Cushions with stains on. One pillow each. Dining chairs in the breakfast room all broken. "Perfect location for exploring Florence. 1mile from the train station (20 min walk). Overlooking the river. Clean. Staff friendly. Good selection of food at breakfast. A lovely terrace to sit on and watch the world go by. Free tea/coffee/water provided throughout the day. Would definitely recommend others to stay at the Hotel Silla! "

"What a quaint four night stay. The nuns managing the desk and the grounds were sweet and helpful. The room was neat with a pleasant balcony view out into the courtyard. A bit longer of a walk to central Florence but only blocks from the train station. A unique property to unwind after experiencing a great city."

Coffee/bakery area had an amazing breakfast selection. We didn’t have the buffet but looked thru the room and it looked very nice as well."
