"Staying at this hotel was an incredible and unique experience! The way the old prison has been transformed into a modern hotel is absolutely brilliant. The historic atmosphere is preserved perfectly, and the clean rooms are very comfortable. The staff is clearly understaffed and overwhelmed with duties, but they work incredibly hard and do their absolute best to keep the atmosphere and everything else perfect. Both the breakfast and parking options were excellent. Highly recommended!"

"The hotel was good value for what I paid. The only minor problem was the room carpet. It had certainly seen better days. I stay when I can at the Holiday Inn. However, there is a slightly higher standard between The Holiday Inn and The Holiday Inn Express. The Holiday Inn Express doesn't have a room safe or mini fridge, for example. The staff were very helpful and polite and like many places spoke a high standard of English. Generally, a decent place to stay. Cheers Michael"

"The staff were really nice and helpful. The room was really good, but there was a constant loud buzzing coming from the extractor fan in the bathroom, making it hard to sleep. The food next door at Azura was amazing and the Casino next door is really fun. My only negative about my stay here was that my flight was cancelled, but me and my friend still had to pay for that night at the hotel even though we were still in the UK. We cancelled the original holiday package due to the cancelled flight and rebooked here with new dates. Reception told us to speak to Expedia about the refund and Expedia sent an email to advise that the hotel would not be refunding us."

There was a transit strike the day of our arrival and I was notified by one of the staff members via message in regard to that and they offered to book us a taxi from the airport to the hotel. That worked out perfectly! They were all very helpful with any questions we had and sight seeing suggestions too. The room was clean and very nice. Beds were comfortable as well. I highly recommend this property for your stay in Amsterdam!"
