"Good value for money. The single room was, as expected, small but clean and perfectly adequate with ensuite, TV and good tea/coffee making facilities. Breakfast was excellent, with a varied choice. I was kindly allowed to check in to my room a long while before stated time. Parking is limited to six spaces in front of hotel. Owner very friendly and welcoming."

"Gaining entry and checking in eas was more complicated than it needed to be. The walls in my bedroom were paper thin and I could here absolutely every thing from the room next door, the squeak in the mattress everyone the occupant turned over, the headboard banging against the wall, every movement that was made. To top it off I was looking forward to eating in the property only to discover that the chef had gone AWOL. The best thing about my stay was I was only there for 1 night"

"As usual my stay was wonderful The staff cannot do enough for you Standards in all areas are very high! This is what keeps me returning…on that note, I’m wondering if there could be some kind of reward , ie a free dinner, or returning guests?!"

"Expedia did not relay my original request for a twin-bedded room (we were two elderly ladies) and we were allocated VERY SMALL double bed which was totally unacceptable. Fortunately the hotel were eventually able to arrange a twin-bedded room by splitting a king size bed into two sections and the situation was resolved. BUT it could have spoiled our holiday had a solution not been found (the hotel was fully booked)."

"It was very shabby and it smelt bad. It is conveniently situated for the centre of Clacton but it was very noisy and so I didn't sleep well. There was very little space in the bathroom. They don't do breakfasts so I had to schlep round town in the heat trying to find somewhere. On a positive note the gentleman was very friendly and welcoming when I checked in."

"No parking when I got there and not a big car park anyway, room was dirty with hair left in the shower, bed was lumpy and creaked everytime I l moved. Also wasn't made aware that there was a function on until I checked in which was noisy up until midnight."
