Staff was not very friendly, almost borderline rude. When I checked in, I felt like I was bothering her. I booked two rooms, at almost a triple rate of $360 night/per room. I found out later that one of the rooms had been upgraded to a “superior” room but the front desk worker did not mention it in order to let me decide who should get the larger suite. My family that was traveling with me told me later in the evening all the amenities their room had and it was at that point, I realized we had two different rooms. I was shocked as I had paid for both rooms and felt the hotel worker should have let me know so that I could decide who would get the larger room as I paid for both. When I checked out early the next morning, that worker was there but completely ignored me & the gentleman called me over to his station. He wasn’t much friendlier either & didn’t even thank us for staying there, etc., the usual courtesies that you receive when checking out. It’s a very nice, clean hotel but we were extremely disappointed with the staff. We stayed at multiple hotels during our vacation in southern Germany & did not have service like this at any place we stayed. For the amount of money we spent, we were disappointed and I cannot say that I would recommend to foreign travelers.

An amazing location, beautiful lobby and very nice modern rooms. Only complaint was the fact our room only had one bath towel, and our coffees were not replenished for our second morning.

Beautiful hotel, very friendly, helpful and attentive stuff. Great breakfasts and good kitchen. A few small things that need upgrade: no ventilation in bathroom, old and worn towels, bathroom amenities need some fix up. Otherwise, awesome place to stay.

Blessed with a phenomenal location, but service wasn't as expected. First, I would like to start off by saying that the Steigenberger Hotel resides at an excellent location. It is conveniently located next to the Kurpark and is within easy walking distance of the shopping district (Louisen Str). The ongoing challenge that we had during our stay was concerning the bathroom, specifically the availability of wash cloths. On the first night my wife and I each had one washcloth for use. We stayed in many other hotels and never had an issue with wash cloths. However, for the next several nights we only received one washcloth. When I brought this to the attention of the staff, I was informed that there were no washcloths available and was issued a much larger hand towel instead. Using a large hand towel in the shower is doable, but unacceptable for a hotel like the Steigenberger. Asking the front desk for wash cloths and hearing there are none available is just really sad for a hotel the size of the Steigenberger. We shouldn't have to ask for that in the first place. It is a normal thing that a hotel provides towels, wash cloths for the guests, but not the Steigenberger. Over the course of our 11 night stay this reoccurring issue devolved into a series of episodes consisting of dirty washcloths being left in the bathroom. Finally, my wife who is German and had lived in Bad Homburg for years left a note in German for the housekeeping staff which made the situation somewhat

Cleanliness needs improvement. The hotel's standard has dropped, especially in maintenance and food. The hotel requires renovation. Everything is getting old: the carpets, the bedding, the furniture. The standard of food at breakfast has dropped significantly and the price charged of 32 euros per person is very high.
