Excellent confort and very eco friendly.
5 min walk from the train station and about 10 mins walk from the Bamboo Forest.
Great things in small boxes type of an experience.

Muni Kyoto is a small boutique hotel with friendly staff and is conveniently located. Our second floor room has beautiful views of Arashiyama with large floor-to-ceiling windows and a balcony. The hotel and rooms have a modern and minimalist design so that the focus is on the natural scenery outside. Breakfast has multiple courses and is delicious, especially their freshly baked croissants. The dining experience is generally calm and relaxing with the views of Arashiyama.

I have never stayed in a hostel before, so I was filled with trepidation about what the atmosphere would be like.
I need not have worried, Mulan Hostel was perfect, spotlessly clean, modern throughout. A quiet and peaceful sanctuary. Mulan Hostel has set the bar very high, fantastic!! Thank you.

The staff are very friendly and helpful. The room is clean, complete, and comfortable. Additionally, the facilities are exemplary including the private onsen. My whole stay in this property is very relaxing.

Brilliant hotel in a fantastic space with mountains to the north and a great river near by with plenty of small business to keep busy with. The room it's self was beautifully spacious with chic decor, English speaking staff (and tv) restaurants looked lovely but have other plans. Didn't seem to be too busy but very large hotel with spa and work out options.
Will be looking for rooms again

Hotel and staff are lovely. Ideal if you have a car. Thankful for free shuttle bus to station if you haven’t. Not much to do / see immediately around the hotel. But great location for seeing the bamboo forest.

Loved the location of being nearer the old side of Kyoto. Spacious lobby was lovely along with rooftop bar. Balance between sympathetic design and modern luxury. Breakfast was excellent and very varied to others we had in Japan.
Room was good and a generous size. Ground floor didn’t have much light but that was okay as we were out all day.
Only negatives, only one chair in room and not many places to be comfy and relax. No bath. Laundrette was not nearly big enough, turned out to be very...

I read the reviews about the location and there isn’t anything that isn’t walkabale to. They have a bus to drops you off in the station location was great. Beautiful rooms but I think some of the stuff is a bit outdated for a 5 star. Nonetheless amazing staff and experience

Arashiyama District is in western Kyoto, Japan. It is a district made famous by its quaint shopping areas, bamboo groves, and cherry blossoms. It is a popular tourist destination during the autumn months when the cherry trees are flowering and the maples turn a rich hue of gold and red.

A popular attraction in Arashiyama District is the massive and spectacular bamboo groves. The cherry blossoms in November and April are also one of the most beautiful sights in the district.
Iconic landmarks in Arashiyama District are the Togetsukyo Bridge and Tenryuji Temple, a designated UNESCO World Heritage Site.
