"We stayed one night as a family of 3, with our 9 year old and it couldn't be better. It's an intimate, boutique hotel with lush greenery and 2 pools to choose from. The rooms are clean, spacious and well designed. We appreciated all the decor details that paid homage to the colonial theme of this building. Close by there were cafes, restaurants and a 7 Eleven located at the Mess Hall. The hotel is walking distance from Imbiah Station and was the perfect space for us to return to after spending a day in Adventure Cove. We thoroughly enjoyed the serenity and space within The Barracks Hotel and would recommend it in a heartbeat if you are looking for a relaxing and charming stay."

"Pros: Bed is clean, air con is silent and works well. The restaurant (Tearoom) served wonderful 5 stars food, including its breakfast. There is a shuttle bus from hotel to nearby and to Vivo city. Fast check in and check out. Cons: The hotel (for Premier room w balcony) need some facilities upgrading soon and to do a throughout cleaning. Room is generally dusty (seen from cups and parts of cabinets) and tile floor need proper mopping (the tiles had some chocolate stains from previous occupant which i had to clean), the cleaners were rushing to clean during peak hours. The basin and shower area wasn't clean properly. The shower water will wet the restroom as the glass door is not properly sealed. There are no space or equipment to hang multiple wet clothes and shower towels (poor design) Additional towel and toiletries requests (from room TV app) only came the next day afternoon."

"One of the pools was under renovation, which we did not know at the time of booking. Check-in was fast. We went up to our room and waited for our luggage to be delivered. It turns out we had to go back outside to tell the bellhop where to take our belongings. All other places we've stayed (even 3 star hotels) our things were brought to our room without us having to find another employee and tell them ourselves. Rooms are very small. We had a lot of things because we were on the last leg of a 10-day trip, plus a car seat and stroller, and baby cot. Room service is an option, but we did not know where the menu was. We learned later it is on the television. I gave feedback on check-in, and we were contacted by the guest services manager who moved us to a delux family room, which really is just 2 connecting rooms. Breakfast was not included. We paid for breakfast seperately in advance for 3 days and only used 2. Front desk made it sound like we had to choose to pay for all three days up front and did not mention if we had the option to just pay each morning if we wanted. We has breakfast at a restaurant nearby for one mornings, and took the loss. Great location and amenities but far from a 4-star hotel service experience. Airport transportation was $70, so as you can imagine, we did not use it. It very much felt like a 3 star hotel because of the size of the rooms and the front desk staff."

"Check in, room not ready, said an issue with the aircon and would text me in 20mins when room ready. Offered complimentary buffet to make up for it. 20mins later, no text. I go to the desk to follow up, the man just puts two cards in front of me, no sorry, no nothing. We needed to nap our 2yo and not having our room ready until 5:45pm was extremely frustrating. I emailed twice in the months before to request a cot in our room. Both times it was confirmed. Arrive to the room, no cot. We called twice for the cot, nothing - I had to go to the desk to ask for it again. Didn’t get a cot until 9pm. Complimentary dinner - I tried to confirm a time 3 times, 2 times in-person another time by email - no one could confirm. I get a call just before our requested time when already made plans elsewhere as we didn’t want to risk coming back to Sentosa if there wasn’t a confirmed booking. For breakfast included, the 1st time we attempted to attend, we were told it was full and sent to an overflow buffet which didn’t have as many options. The other 2 days had the same too full issue so went elsewhere. Checkout, asked for help to get 7 luggage bags down on a trolley. The hotel staff asked if we prebooked a trolley. Said it would be 30min wait for a trolley at 230pm. Had a car booked so we had to lug our own bags to the lift and wrangle kids down the long corridor to get to level 5 without help. All round, it seemed everything was too hard and we weren’t valued guests whose time mattered."

Siloso Beach Resort, Sentosa

"I loved this resort. It was a tropical getaway that was much needed. I really enjoyed the pool. Fresh spring water, no chemicals that hurt your eyes or skin. I did have ants in the room because I left food out, but its nature so I wasn't upset, just had to be mindful of my surroundings. Unfortunately, I did not do the eco tour which I know would have been amazing. I will defiantly be back to stay."
