"Loved my stay at Engiri. I didn't want to leave. The place, the staff, the warm staff, the elephant and hippos roaming about in the mornings - I loved it all."

"A surprisingly well equipped and well conceived property in the south-western region of Uganda. It's very quiet, very well-designed and my wife says it is of European quality - which is a compliment! We stayed in the honeymoon suite which was very spacious. The facilities including gym are way better than in most Ugandan properties. It is a little overpriced and the food is unremarkable BUT if I had to stay near Mbarara and I could get the rate down by 30% this would definitely be my preferred...

"The property gives you high luxury in the middle of nature. But what makes the place exceptional is the services given by staff. They treat you like VIP from arrival to check out.
I have done a lot of travel and hotels but this was so far my best experience. It brings two worlds together and it’s absolutely have to visit place if you are looking for safari lodges"

"We had meetings in nearby Lugazi and originally planned to stay in the town.
However, when the option of staying in the nearby rainforest came up, I decided the cool of the forest and its quietness were a far better option."

"Ensure that meals are standard and not only when the lodge has large groups. We paid just as the large group so we expected the same service. When a large group checks in, the meals are great with lots of desserts and options. However, when the group left and we were still there, our meal was poor. Basic meal with only a banana or small fruit as dessert.
There is no wifi connection in the lodge, not even the main building for the entire 4 nights and 5 days we were there. The lodge should let...

"I am really, really tired of hotels claiming that they have ‘free wifi’ (I stay in hotels >300 nights per year). This hotel had only intermittent electricity (so no power to the small fan in the room at night). In 48 hour stay perhaps 2 hours of connectivity. I encourage Hotels.com to add a third category “wifi MAY be available”"

"My stay at Gorilla Valley Lodge was wonderful. The staff was incredibly kind and accommodating, and the gardens and properties are beautiful with views overlooking the forest (including the mountain where we did our gorilla trek!). The restaurant area sits atop a hill overlooking a valley with 360 views of the mountains and scenery. The entire property is very peaceful and the restaurant served a three-course meal every evening. The rooms were clean with little welcoming touches when we arrived....

"The staff was courteous and helpful beyond belief. The facility is spotless, location is ideal and there is a full service 24 hour restaurant. The food choices and quality at the rooftop restaurant is excellent. I highly recommend this hotel. "
"The staff and everybody was so nice and so informative and even help me out on my first time staying in here. They even accommodated my girlfriend when she arrived later than me. Looking forward to stay here again"
