"Ensure that meals are standard and not only when the lodge has large groups. We paid just as the large group so we expected the same service. When a large group checks in, the meals are great with lots of desserts and options. However, when the group left and we were still there, our meal was poor. Basic meal with only a banana or small fruit as dessert. There is no wifi connection in the lodge, not even the main building for the entire 4 nights and 5 days we were there. "I am really, really tired of hotels claiming that they have ‘free wifi’ (I stay in hotels >300 nights per year). This hotel had only intermittent electricity (so no power to the small fan in the room at night). In 48 hour stay perhaps 2 hours of connectivity. I encourage Hotels.com to add a third category “wifi MAY be available”"

"My stay at Gorilla Valley Lodge was wonderful. The staff was incredibly kind and accommodating, and the gardens and properties are beautiful with views overlooking the forest (including the mountain where we did our gorilla trek!). The restaurant area sits atop a hill overlooking a valley with 360 views of the mountains and scenery. The entire property is very peaceful and the restaurant served a three-course meal every evening. The rooms were clean with little welcoming touches when we arrived....
