"Our stay at The Grand was fantastic. The staff were friendly and very helpful and the room was clean and comfortable. We had a superb breakfast on our last day to keep us going. We'll definitely book The Grand again!"

"My wife and I stayed in a suite on the second floor with a stand alone bathtub. The bath was a great feature but for the opulence of the room you'd expect a bigger sink (One of the tiny rectangular ones) not really in keeping with the standard and price. The bed was extremely big and comfortable, one of the best hotel beds we've stayed in. Location was extremely central but outside noise could be an issue for some (they do provide earplugs) The wifi was poor but that was a minor complaint. Overall it's an interesting place to stay for a night but it's overpriced for what it is."

"Really close to everything, we stayed on a Sunday night on the ground floor and there was no noise. Underfloor heating was a great surprise! only thing that we’d change is the “dress” in the room looked very old - perhaps if the costumes were newer we would have tried them on. However it did fit the theme! Lovely room for a short unique stay."

"Great apartment and location with private garage included,situated right on the river with options for river cruises and close proximity of several riverside pubs a bonus.Clean and well appointed property.All mod cons in the kitchen.Patrick was great with all communication so check in etc was very easy.10 minute walk to the beautiful York town centre.Will book again."

"Ideally situated. A few minutes walk to the city walls & one street back from river & bridge to city centre. Cosy double room was exactly that! Stayed 2 nights. Quiet peaceful room. Coffee pods & coffee bags plus choice tea bags along with small bottle of fresh milk. Great shower room. Air con adjustable in room, though it cut off after a few hours. Quite hot throughout the night as quilt was also heavy.Breakfast had many choices, cooked & continental. Friendly attentive staff throughout. Able to park car prior to check in and offered to use car park after check out. Parking charge £15 a day. Would stay again, thoroughly recommend this hotel."
