"Interesting though confusing place. Rooms are big and comfy and hotel locations’ good. But it’s very dark in there - lobby, breakfast room, amenities: no windows whatsoever. Rooms do have windows but there is like 15 different switches to turn on and off the lights and that’s still did not allow me to turn off an armoire (?) or a spot in the bathroom window. When you do turn them off, they turn on by themselves a bit later. I guess you want to have the staff explain that to you or just remove the main card to power the whole room off. So it’s an experience, in any case. Not bad but still different 😆"

"Overall, the Regent is a very nice hotel. Perhaps a bit dated, but don’t let that discourage you, it’s still a nice property. Positives: the rooms are very large, having just come from Japan where the room I had was small, this felt even larger! We liked the location, walking distance to main station stop, nice high end mall you can access by walking down the stairs, not sure how the mail stays in business, the 3 times we walked through it, it was empty. Pool on the rooftop looks nice and inviting, we did not get a chance to use it though. Negatives: the rooms had a damp musty smell, probably due to the constant high humidity. I got used to it by day. 3. The gym area and equipment is dated, some walls walking to the gym area, but the elevator looks old and dirty. We tried the Brasserie buffet restaurant, it looked good from the outside, had great reviews, but it was not that great. I’d recommend staying at the Regent, excellent customer service. Just know what to expect."

"Location is good. Near to MRT station. However, nearby do not have many shops. Just 1 Family Mart that is 10mins walking distance. More like business hotel. Only 1 restaurant called Japoli. Their service stuff can be forgetful. Less helpful . No proper introduction even when mentioned first time visit to the hotel and restaurant. But I do like the food selections"

"This hotel was in the perfect location for a short 2 day trip to Taipei. The hotel staff was excellent and helpful. Our room was much bigger than I’m used to when traveling internationally. We will stay here when we come back to Taipei in the future."

"Property is well located with MRT within short walking distance. Lots of good eateries around the area. The night market is also close by with the wharf for the night view. A convenience store was 2 doors away. The room is of a good size n the bed was comfortable. I didnt open the window as the noise fm the wet market downstairs could b heard. The hotel is likely a renamed new hotel as the old name Nine Hotel was more visible on arrival to hotel. There are small steep steps to take to enter the hotel for check in on the 2nd floor so be aware of this if you hv heavy luggage. I was lucky there was a helpful front desk staff to help me bring up my luggage. I thought the shared lounge was a bit small to accommodate minimal people. "

"My wife and I enjoyed out eight-night stay at Landis. Staff were all extremely attentive, courteous, and helpful, including the cleaning staff, who checked daily (sometimes twice a day) if we needed anything. Check-in was quick and efficient, and a porter brought our luggage to the room. We had a pleasant stay and would consider booking again. There is an elegant Chinese restaurant on the lower lever of the hotel with some nice decorations, and the head waiter assisted us in choosing several entrees as we were not familiar with much of what was on the menu. Breakfast is served daily on the lobby level in what during the day is a French restaurant. "
