"We stayed here using some Tesco vouchers to pay for the stay.
We booked a Superior Balcony Room for one night. Check-in was very friendly and quick, and we were walked to our room by the receptionist.
The room was lovely, but we did discover an issue with the electronic lock — it wouldn’t lock when we went to leave.
We reported it to reception, and someone came to have a look at it quite quickly. Unfortunately, they weren’t able to resolve the issue, so we were moved to a Deluxe Room.

"The staff were very helpful from the moment I arrived. I needed to book an additional night and thought that might mean a different room for two nights as Expedia said they couldn’t do at their end. They were very accommodating and gave me a room upgrade which was lovely. They carried my luggage to my room. Breakfast was amazing. Servers were friendly. The front desk agent arranged transportation for me when I left. A very pleasant stay. "
"Visually the place makes a very good impact. Dinner, the food was excellent as were the staff.
Breakfast … we’d booked it at check in. We turned up to breakfast and there was nothing booked , the service at breakfast was okay , we did have to case up something.
But overall we had a very good stay and would return."
"Nice comfortable hotel an easy walking distance from everything in Colchester. The bed was comfortable and the breakfast was good quality. I liked the fact that breakfast is 'a la carte', as that reduces wastage. Cleanliness is good and the staff were friendly and helpful. Would definitely recommend!"
"Lovely place to stay, got plenty of fore warning that their lift was down. Comfy bed with extra pillows. Everything was clean and fresh. Right on the high street so very convenient "

"Nice tidy and clean room that looked like it had been recently fitted out.
Decent sized Kitchen at each end of the corridor i didn't use them but they looked fully kitted out and new.
The hotel is on a quiet residential street but took me 5mins to walk into the town centre which has loads of bars, shops and restaurants.
Worth calling ahead of arrival and they'll reserve you a parking spot (There aren't many spots)
Nice bloke on reception showed us our rooms and kindly found me a fan.

"We loved it here, had a a good couple of nights with friends. Beautiful apartment, amazing mattresses and pillows, very quiet environment. The pool wasn’t open and some work was happening but you can tell it’s going to look amazing once they put it all together and summer prep work is expected at this time of year. Kara was fab and we met a super helpful housekeeper who is doing a degree who was a literal walking tourist information centre. Great atmosphere all round ."

Slight downside in that we were kept waiting to sign in. Disappointing that mostly the flowers on display were artificial, despite having a cut-flower garden outside."
"The Foxes Den is a perfect place to stay. Our room was very comfortable, beautifully designed and well equipped.
The restaurant provided excellent food, both for dinner and breakfast. It was run very efficiently by a great team of staff."
