"This was a wonderful experience, very friendly staff who were always ready to help, offering glasses of chilled water in the spacious and well-furnished public rooms and alcohol in the evenings. We stayed in the large Shakespeare room, often used as a Bridal Suite. The spa is great, with a good sized pool, a jacuzzi and unusual sauna.
Really good breakfasts served in bedrooms and at the nearby sister-hotel Milsoms. The fine dining at the main restaurant on the nearby River Stour was sublime,...
"The Marlborough is a pub with tasty food and about five rooms for overnight stays. The staff is outstanding and does everything possible to be helpful. It is on a central street of a very small town, so it can be a bit noisy during the day and early evening, but is quiet at night. The rooms have nice versions of all the basics, including a good bed and excellent shower. There are few extra amenities beyond the room and pub, although the breakfast was very good. "Visually the place makes a very good impact. Dinner, the food was excellent as were the staff.
Breakfast … we’d booked it at check in. We turned up to breakfast and there was nothing booked , the service at breakfast was okay , we did have to case up something.

We booked a Superior Balcony Room for one night. Check-in was very friendly and quick, and we were walked to our room by the receptionist.
The room was lovely, but we did discover an issue with the electronic lock — it wouldn’t lock when we went to leave.

"The staff were very helpful from the moment I arrived. I needed to book an additional night and thought that might mean a different room for two nights as Expedia said they couldn’t do at their end. They were very accommodating and gave me a room upgrade which was lovely. They carried my luggage to my room. Breakfast was amazing. Servers were friendly. The front desk agent arranged transportation for me when I left. A very pleasant stay. "

Decent sized Kitchen at each end of the corridor i didn't use them but they looked fully kitted out and new.
The hotel is on a quiet residential street but took me 5mins to walk into the town centre which has loads of bars, shops and restaurants.
Worth calling ahead of arrival and they'll reserve you a parking spot (There aren't many spots)
Nice bloke on reception showed us our rooms and kindly found me a fan.
