"Our stay at the GrandWest Arashiyama was exceptional. The room was spacious and clean, reception was incredibly helpful, and the location was quiet and idyllic. During our stay we made the most of the amenities including free refreshments, a washing/drying machine, and a cute cafe situated just downstairs from the hotel entrance. Our stay here was easily one of the best parts of our trip to Japan and I highly encourage those visiting Arashiyama to consider this hotel!"
"A great ryokan with very friendly staff. The Japanese breakfast was the best we had in Japan! Our room was nice, clean, and had an amazing view. Great location! "
"This hotel is truly like stepping into another world. The service is impeccable, the room we had was gorgeous and superbly clean. We were lucky enough to have a private onsen with very clean water at the perfect temperature on a lovely little lanai.
All of the staff are very friendly and professional and the food is fantastic as well. Highly recommend if you’re looking for a touch of classic Japan in Kyoto!"

"Great hotel. No complains at all, wish I stayed longer. They had free wine, beer and snack. Rooms are big, very spacious (compared to others I stayed at in Japan) The breakfast buffet it was ok (not my preferred food for breakfast) but convenient. The little cafe in the lobby has great sandwiches. Everyone is so nice, but I found that everyone in Japan is. Beautiful country!"
