"Very good location, just 5-minute walk to Old town. Super nice and great service-minded staff, especially Ms. Eriko, the landlady. All needed amenities are provided. We enjoy delicious food with pleasant food decoration. Honjin Hiranoya Kachoan is the only place we will stay every time we visit Takayama."

"The staff was impeccable, the room was lovely and peaceful, the food was phenomenal. I felt like a queen here. Gardens and onsen are top notch. Service was perfect. I cannot wait to return!!"

"If you are looking for a genuine ryokan to stay in Takayama look no further. We stayed in a room with a private toilet and a little sitting area which overlooked the river. The common bathing rooms with onsen could be locked for privacy. Suitable for couples, friends travelling together and families with older children ."

"price is expensive, and booking for 3 persons but the hotel received booking for 2 persons, will pay extra at the hotel"

"My first ryokan experience, and one not to forget. An authentic and relaxing experience"
