"I’ve stayed at a RIU in Montego Bay before, so I knew paying more usually means a nicer, more “luxury” experience. That wasn’t really the case here. Palace Tropical Bay didn’t feel like an upgrade, and honestly we could’ve just stayed at Riu Negril and been just as happy, if not happier. The hotel itself is beautiful, featuring a gorgeous beach area, a nice pool, and a great bar. One thing to keep in mind: if you’re hoping for an ocean view, be sure to book a room on the second floor, as the bushes can block the view from first-floor rooms.
