"Location was everything for us, just a 5 minute walk to Ninezaka area filled with beautiful streets. Kiyomizu-dera and other temples/ shrines super close by. Only a 15 minute drive to train station and Nishiki Market. Was such a good spot to stay while getting out of Tokyo for a few days. "

"There is no better place to stay in Kyoto. The location is SUPERB. The hotel is the most magical place. If all of that was not enough, Yuriko at the the concierge desk provides the most exceptional level of service I have ever encountered. Stay there just for the concierge services. "If you are staying in the Gion area of Kyoto this hotel is a perfect choice. It was one of the highlights of our 2 weeks in Japan. Yasakahan is perfectly situated in the heart of Gion. Everything is walkable. The facilities are excellent - the foot bath and shower/spa is great. Absolutely loved the decor. You really felt like this was your little piece of Kyoto for a few days. "

"Great host and communication. The house is cozy and it had everything we needed. The air conditioning was great in the Japanese heatwave. In just under 10 minutes, you can walk to some of the nicest streets in Kyoto with temples and cafes.
However, everything around there closes quite early and becomes really quiet - so be aware if it’s not your vibe. Not a big deal for me, though.
The only real issue is that the property is not very accessible: the closest bust stop is about 15 min away and...

"町屋のリノベ施設。とてもアットホームでよいです。
駐車場がないこと（周辺は高い）点が何点と言えば難点ですが、六波羅蜜寺、清水に近く朝の散歩はこの立地ならではのところです。
町屋なのでサイズ感などは昔の家屋ですので入口などは狭く感じるかもしれないです。お風呂も広々、キッチンもついていて犬連れ旅にはもってこいのところでした"

"We loved the Kiyomizu Machiya Inn. A Memorable stop on our family adventure. It is on a quiet side street in the middle of the famous Kiyomizu Dara area. There was plenty of Shopping / Dining a few yards from our door. As a photographer it allowed me to walk out our door late at night and photograph this amazing neighborhood after the many tourists had left. "
