"We really appreciated the location of this the Edison. It is less than a block to the west of the TKTS booth. It was quiet and they had nice amenities including a grab and go breakfast or for another $6.50 a person, a sit down breakfast at either of their 2 restaurants. The room was quite large, with a couch and 2 queen beds. The robes, complimentary bottle of wine and snacks were nice touches. We really appreciated the umbrella in the room as it rained all 3 days. The hotel is in a safe area and we felt secure at all times. The hotel has staff who check room keys and the elevators will not work unless scanned with your room key. So two more levels of protection. The Deco style of the public areas was beautiful. We loved the complimentary wine hour with entertainment too. Hotel Edison went above and beyond for thoughtful perks. Great experience. We will definitely return."

"It was a great find, room was clean, bed was comfy. Only 10 min walk to the subway, and 15/20 min to most attractions in mid-Manhattan. It is one of the few hotels that includes a delicious breakfast. I recommend it, it is sort of a 4* hotel, only thing is located in an sketchy area, but i had no issues walking the 10 minutes to and from the subway. It's also way better than many accommodations in Mid Manhattan. Great value, clean, and convenient."

"All the front desk staff were very friendly and followed up on my requests, like getting new towels, right away. The interior of the hotel and guest rooms were clean and updated. I didn't see any mold or mildew in the bathroom. The complimentary breakfast room was clean and had at least 10 tables as well as 5 or so lounge chairs without a dining height table. While big, it was not big enough. I often had to eat at the lounge chairs or wait to eat because there was no seating. The food was good quality for a high end free breakfast but it ran out of several items, including coffee, on the mornings that I didn't get there before 8 am. That is something this hotel really needs to work on. Another problem is the location. I chose to take the train to visit a friend in the hospital and the walk to catch it is sketchy. I walked past a few parked cars that had electrical cords running to them from the nearby building 5 days in a row. The smell of marijuana on this sidewalk, very small local grocers and pharmacies, gave the impression that I would not be safe walking here any time except daylight. Walking the other direction, towards Vernon Blvd., did not have the same run-down and crowded feel but there were no restaurants or recognizable grocery stores in that direction. Ultimately, we chose to leave this hotel early and check into another one so that walking out of the hotel was less questionable. The next hotel did not have as nice of amenities but better location."
